Really proud of Pearson. First conference player of the year for TXST since 1999.

Chad Lott averaged 13.5 points on 55.8% shooting, was one of the teams primary ballhandlers and also contributed 5.6 rebounds per game. I'm surprised that he didn't get any postseason recognition. I think he should've been named the Newcomer of the Year and left Monyyong with the DPOY and first team all-conference honors.

I was impressed with Lott Saturday when we played. He was USA's most dangerous offensive weapon in that game. But I think Monyyong was clearly the better overall player this year. He was a couple rebounds away from averaging a double-double.

Michael Ertel (ULM) keeps moving up each year. In 2017-18 he was SBC Freshman of the Year...in 2018-19 was third team SBC...and now this year he is second team SBC.

I expect him to be a pre-season first team pick next year and hopefully first team at the end of his senior year.

Many of us in Little Rock where hoping that Markquis Nowell would win POY. I think it was likely a close call, and he was probably hurt by missing about 4 conference games, due to injury, and not being at full strength for a couple of others. He'll have a couple of more chances to win it. [/align]

RE: Sun Belt MBB All Conference Teams
Agree it was probably a close call. I know this isn't a career achievement award, but probably tough to deny a guy who's the 7th all-time leading scorer in the conference's history a player of the year award.
