USM does not look good tonight. Hoping it continues for another 20+ minutes. 17-10 with 8 to go in half

Just as I was about to say Peterson looks extremely timid, he bangs down a 3. 20-12.

Can’t help but feel we are letting USM off the hook thus far.

Defense has been active, offensive movement has looked lethargic. 25-15 Rice.

32 percent shooting and we're up by 10. That's the good news. The bad news is we had a big lead at UTEP the other night too. It's also worth noting (a) Martin is playing tonight and didn't play in the first USM game and (b) the USM guy who led them in scoring that night (Malone, who had 27 points) has been hurt and he didn't play in the 1st half.

We need a good 2nd half - can't let up.

Murphy is really struggling offensively tonight.

Rice starts o-fer 6 in second half. USM not much better but has closed lead to 8

But he did just hit a 3 to put Rice up 11. USM answers with a 2 so 9 point Rice lead nearing the 1st media timeout. Then they hit a 3 to get it to within 6. USM turnover so now we hit the 1st media timeout of the 2nd half.

Lead down to 4.....

To be fair, if we let Southern Miss come back and win this game we probably don't deserve to make the CUSA tournament. 43-40 SMiss.

Not any more - USM can't miss. They are now up 3.

Martin misses the layup, usm hits the 3... And gets fouled. Now we are down by 3.

And a foul on a made 3 just lke at UTEP.
