Ugh, 2 RBI single by UH gives the cougars the 4-2 lead.

Zaskoda is giving up a lot of hard contact. Coog cleanup hitter hits double off wall. They score him on a clean single up the middle.

On to our half of the 5th trailing 5-2

We leave 2 and on to the top of the 6th, trailing 5-2.

A. Cruz has had a disappointing season at the plate this year.

Aggressive base running by the Coogs and a nice stop in the hole by Cruz leads to a nifty out at third.

On to the bottom of the 6th

5-4 now and we're threatening to score more. Hannigan (freshman catcher) has two hits tonight.

Walk, single, single, double, K, K, K. We score 2, but leave 2 in scoring position.

Isn't that the 2nd time this game we've done that (KKK to end a really good scoring threat)?

And the 6th or 7th time this year. The frequency of strikeouts, especially by looking at pitches down the middle, and the woeful lack of any situational hitter, has got to stop. The approach at the plate is embarrassing....and at some point one has to look at the coaching if this doesn't stop.

Some life by the offense tonight but the clutch hitting hasn't been there. Still have a bit of time.

Top of the lineup, led by Edwards and Cruz, have been sensational tonight.

The homeplate ump Savery'd Cox on the game's final pitch ... which was way outside and going farther outside ... but somehow was called strike three. Grrr.
