Bill Parcells Quote Sums Up Rockets Season!
Former New York Giants Football Coach Bill Parcells has a famous quote that kind of sums up what type of team Toledo has been this season. “You are what your record says you are” . As for Toledo, that means "average" with 15 wins, 15 loses. There has been a few highs like that road win at 1st Place Akron and some back to back road wins, but there has equally been some lows like the home court blowout by Buffalo and last night’s debacle against NIU. Overall it has been an up and down season which translates into a team that is average. You can legitimately point to injuries to Edu and Acunzo as reducing their depth which played a part in how the season has transpired. But you also point to many MAC games that came down to the last 4 or 5 minutes where Toledo did not make the necessary plays to pull out close wins which good to great teams do on a consistent basis. There is a fine line between average and good, and for those reasons and others, Toledo has been mostly average. With that said, the season is not over yet and Toledo can still turn an average season into something "special". While it is not probable based on their season to date, you can point to the fact that the Rockets beat the best team in MAC (Akron) on the road and played the 2nd best team (BG) down to the wire in both games. First things first – win Friday night at home against EMU, then Monday night at home against mostly likely Western Michigan. Then get ready to put everything on the line in Cleveland beginning next Thursday, most likely against BG. Win that game and you’re playing with “house money” in the Semi’s and Final’s as no one will expect you to win the Tournament at that point!

I am not making a point to watch another game unless they make the finals. With this rotation I don’t see it happening.

It's funny how our Sagarin and RPIs aren't that low and about equal with BG. Akron may get a 13 seed but BG thru Toledo would probably get a 14 or 15 seed pending on what the low major leagues do. It's hard to squint and see a MAC team winning a game in the dance. A special type of good night paired with a special bad night from a high seed would be needed to advance.

Bill is correct.
There will be no "run" from this team. This team isn't going anywhere. They might win a game because they shot 60 percent on a million shots (half of them chucked up from 25 feet), but their lack of speed, athleticism, and depth will result in an early exit from the tournament.
There is always next year...
