Bracket
This is the bracket according to Chiefsfan. He notes the Sun Belt has not released the official bracket, but I have learned to trust him on things like this:
1st Round:
9 Arkansas State at 8 Louisiana
10 Coastal Carolina at 7 Texas Arlington
2nd Round
AState/UL winner at 5 Georgia Southern
Coastal/UTA Winner at 6 Appalachian State
Quarterfinals
AState/UL/GS winner at 4 Georgia State
Coastal/UTA/App winner at 3 Texas State
Semifinals
AState/UL/GS/GSU vs 1 Little Rock
Coastal/UTA/App/TXST vs 2 South Alabama
Finals:
Semifinal Winners
So I like several things about the bracket. Obviously, I like the fact that we have a bye to New Orleans. I like that USA and TxSt are bracketed to meet and thus we only have to beat one of them. I like that GaSou and GaSt will likely have to fight it out just to get to New Orleans. I like the fact that there is a reasonable chance that UTA and TxSt will have to fight it out just to get to New Orleans. I like fact that GaSt is our most likely opponent since Darrell will have no trouble getting our games up for that revenge game and they have no clue how much better we are with Markquis and Jaczec. I don't like the fact that whoever we play will be coming off a big win 3 days earlier. Of course, you don't want to have to play that game, but if you win it you come to New Orleans with some momentum, confidence, and minus some tournament jitters. Not much you can do about that.
ASU got a big win tonight. Didn't do much for them since they have to go on the road to ULL, not a fun place to play. Their win did put a big hurt on GaSou.

If the conference would just hire me to handle their bracketology we'd all be set. Who needs to wait the many hours for the league to get its ducks in a row. I knew AState's opponent and time like 3 hours before the league said a word.
And we did a little bit for ourselves with the GS win. It clinched a non losing season. (Okay that means nothing) but also ensured that we won't have to play at UTA in the first round. We've had a fair amount of success in Lafayette, but there was no chance of us winning in Arlington.
In theory, we're 3-1 against the Cajuns and the Georgia Schools this year...

RE: Bracket
Why would ULL schedule your game at 11:00 am in the morning? Not like it was done for a national TV broadcast. I thought it might be to avoid a home baseball game, but they are in Pensacola for a tournament.
I complain about our 2pm starts, but 11am seems like about the worst time if you hope to get any type of crowd. Anyway, all you guys have to do is win 3 straight road games and we can have a rematch in New Orleans. You're 3-1 against the teams in your bracket, so why not go 3-0 in the next week.
