NCHC Standings, Final edition
Short and sweet this week.

1. NoDak....locked
2. Duluth....locked
3,4,5 Denver, WMU, St. Cloud.....look below
6. Omaha....locked
7. Miami.....locked
8. CC....locked

The picture is pretty clear, Denver needs to score 4 points to lock up 3rd, and 2 points to lock up home ice. They play CC which should be easy for them. It is a rivalry game so a split is possible. So their chances of home ice, are incredibly strong.
WMU needs help to finish third, but a sweep of Miami and Denver splitting with CC would do it. It's not impossible this happens. WMU needs 3 points to lock up home ice, we own the tiebreaker on SCSU. Given that WMU hosts Miami this seems likely.
SCSU has done an impressive job, I wrote them off for dead after our series, and they've played great since. They need help to move up to host, but not a lot of help. Given they play Duluth it's hard to see them doing better than a split, that won't be enough for them to move up.

Most likely scenario is 3. Denver hosting 6. Omaha, and 4. WMU hosting 5 SCSU.

So Bronco fans what do you want. If you play SCSU it has a greater pairwise potential, than playing Omaha. But 2-0 vs Omaha is worth more than a 2-1 vs. SCSU. Also Omaha seems to have limited chance of taking the series, I'd give SCSU a much more realistic shot at winning giving how hot they are.
If it's me I'm rooting for WMU to sweep Miami, and Denver splitting with CC

Also looking towards the Pairwise, SCSU is in a better Pairwise position than us, based on this weeks competition. Its possible if we matched up with them it would be for a postseason spot, that makes it a scary series.

I just hope we take our frustration out on Miami after getting screwed last week and bury them in two games.

I for one am hoping Denver and CC split, I would MUCH rather play Omaha in round 1 as the wheels seem to be falling off for them. Getting swept and blanked in both games last weekend vs Miami was eye opening. I think losing their top player in Ward has really hurt them.

Really hoping for a WMU sweep and a Denver split with CC.

Denver / CC is a rivalry series just like ours is with Miami, never know.........

Hoping for Omaha. But SCSU would look better, but I don't know if they could beat them 2 out of 3......

Last year we got at the match-up we wanted & lost. Might work in our favor to have a tougher team; plus a tougher team would help us in the Pairwise. Either way, can't control how the other teams do this weekend, so let's just sweep Miami & go from there.
