MBB Rockets @ Huskies
7pm central on ESPN+

The MBB informational post normally found here will not appear for the Rockets @ Huskies. All the stats, match ups, etc cannot inform you how the game may unfold as this info DOES NOT MATTER. The MAC MBB results to this point only show there is no rhyme or reason to the season. The only prognosis I can serve up, is go to the game and don't leave early as it will go down to the last 10 seconds or less.

This has been a DISCLAMER from pantone1935.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

This game to me feels like it will be linked to the Ball State game. I think if NIU loses to Toledo, NIU will also lose to Ball State. Anyone else get that feeling?

Tuck Foledo.

Well, I've felt for a while now that everything will come down to the Ball State game.

This game scares me- Knapke is a beast & not sure if we can match up with him. Will be there and hoping to lock up a bye and a MAC West title tomorrow night

Go Huskies!

Lets hope Ball State loses so NIU can lock up a bye and clinch the 3 seed all in 1 night!

Still some hope if Huskies lose out, you have to like BGSU chances at home vs UB on Friday. A Falcon victory would also take NIU to Cleveland with a bye.

We are -1.5 over Toledo
Kent State -5 over Bowling Green
Ball State -7 over CMU
Buffalo -9 Miami
Akron -8 Ohio

Looks like it is in really in our own hands.

But it is nice to have that ace in the hole Friday if needed with UB @ BG. Just need BG to win that game and all is goof

I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that Buffalo is really better than BG and that ace in the hole may not be as strong as we hope. Good thing that it's at BG.

MD--clear my head on tiebreakers---I think we are assuming we have the tiebreaker on Buffalo, BUT WHAT IF:

We lose our last two...
....Ball State loses tonight and beats us Friday
....Buffalo splits their last two

We all end up.....10-8

In common games amongst the three teams:

Ball State 2-1
Buffalo 1-1
Us 1-2

Does it break in order of percentage or does Ball State grab the three seed, Buffalo the four, and us five OR after Ball State gets the three does it reset to head to head???

Unlikely scenario, but still feasible in this conference.

In this case Buffalo would also be 1-2 since NIU beat Buffalo, then NIU and Buffalo would revert back to head to head, so NIU would still be the 4 seed. Ball State and Buffalo did play twice and split, so BSU would be 3-1

Thank you---I honestly missed the second meeting of Buffalo and Ball State, obviously.

Agree 100% with pantone1935 in the OP. Something will happen, and if it doesn't, then something else will. All this if, but, and, then, however, if only, what if, but then stuff is head-spinning junk with two games left. By Saturday night we'll know how the whole thing shakes out, so might as well just enjoy the remaining games.

Go Huskies!

The only way we know how it shakes out tonight is if NIU wins Ball State loses , then NIU is your MAC West champ and a 3 seed. Huskies get at least a bye tonight with NIU win or UB loss

RE: MBB Rockets @ Huskies
Chiming on some of the topics here. Y'all didn't give Knapke many chances the first go around. He was efficient and had 15 but he was denied chances. Hands were on him in the paint and he was very uncomfortable. If he hits his first couple threes... that's when you really have to worry because then we can stretch you out and the paint opens up. He had 31 vs. Ball State and even with a slumpy game from M.J., we beat a better, deeper team. M.J. was only 4/15 against you guys last time which also helps shutting us down.

I'd say NIU is the one of the biggest miss matches for us but I can't really pin point why. If German scores over 24 we lose. I think Kent and UB are also type of teams we want to avoid.

Rockets are 4th in the league in Sagarin and have a track to the 5 seed with help from a few other teams. One win basically secures a first round home game for us.

One team I would pick to be in the semis that does not get a bye, Id take the Bobcats of Ohio, that team has all the makings of a deep tourney run in my opinion

I cannot believe how little German gets the benefit of the doubt driving to the basket on contact, it really is unbelievable. Good first half for NIU so far, don't let up in the final 4 minutes!

Marreon averages like 27.5 away from home in MAC play and is broken as we speak.
