If UNF or Liberty neither win the ASUN tourny, which of them gets the auto bid to the NIT since they shared the regular season title? I assume Liberty as the higher ranked team?

I assume those are the only two ASUN teams with any chance of post season play barring significant upsets.

I would assume it would be Liberty.

In ASUN years when Mercer was there, the team that made it furthest in the conference tourney got the NIT bid (between teams that tied for the conference regular season title).

Of course all that could change if the unspeakable happens and otherLU beats Liberty in the Championship.

Be nice if Liberty and UNF got in the tournament and Lipscomb NIT... but that would not happen.

There is virtually zero chance of otherLU going to the NIT, maybe literally zero chance. UNF has the ASUN NIT bid. otherLU doesn’t have the record or resume to be invited to the NIT. Not sure they’d even get a look from the CIT or CBI.

The ASUN has a auto bid in the NIT right?
Just for instance, say the 1 and 2 teams in the ASUN gets NCAA bids, who would go to the NIT?

At that point I don’t believe the NIT is obligated. Their auto bid goes to the regular season champion should they fail to make the NCAA tourny.

Okay, I’ve been corrected by posters on a different stream. Looks like the only NIT bid for the ASUN comes if Liberty loses to otherLU.

What an exciting game! This is our first time going to the NCAA tournament back to back! Hopefully this is the beginning of even higher climbing both for this year and beyond. We need to represent the conference well.
