I would like to comment on the republicans to socialist thing. Its been said on many different boards tv radio etc. I think my Dem friends are missing one simple fact. Social programs such as welfare food stamps emergency funds etc are there for precisely events such as this and natural disasters. They also are in place to help someone get back on their feet so they can live until they find a job etc. They are not there to live on forever nor was that ever the intent of the programs. This is not socialism to the rescue its the system doing what it was designed to do. If you love socialism then you must love the stores being out of food and the stock market at all time lows and hospitals only taking people that are deathly ill and so on. These programs have been expanded and abused to the point that they are now supporting entire families to the point that its not cost effective for these families to go look for work and better themselves. So yea everyone right now is looking to the local and state and federal governments to help out in a short term situation not a permanent one.

Yes, around 97% of people who would catch this thing would be fine in the end, but even if only 3/4s of the people in America caught it, 3% of 75% of 330 million people is a sh*t ton of people needing extensive care all at once and there’s simply not enough to go around. Then people who could be saved end up dying on top of the ones who never really stood a chance.

Whether you realize it or not, your numbers are not based on reality. You are usually a reasonable person so I have no reason to believe you are purposely trying to give misleading info. Fortunately, Trump has obviously had enough, succumbed to his original instincts, common sense, and other legitimate scientific advisement, all of which agree with my original post sent days before he reevaluated the situation and changed the direction of the country. Thank God that he and most reasonable, intelligent people agree with my post and we are letting America Open Up for Business again, sooner than later. Easter is likely too late. Hopefully he will continue to see things as I do and encourage most of the US to open back up prior to Easter.
