B-ball team needs to adopt The Hard Way. Nothing is ever easy.

if this team played a full 40 minutes every game, they'd be tough to beat.

They are in territory they really have no business being in, and I think that will by default make everything hard. Huskies are a 7-11 type MAC team playing for a 11-7 record.

Actually I take that back, if you were to go in right now and wipe the slate clean with NIU's current power rank and re-simulate the season, NIU would on average be a 9-9 team

I don't have much faith for NIU to win one of its next 2 against solid teams, bye chances might come down to UB @ BGSU on Friday. GO BG!

Eugene was a beast in the 2nd half today. If he didn't win MAC player of the year today even in defeat I don't know what else he has to do.

Dammit Monty, I am in Vegas and I played the Huskies giving 1 1/2 points. If I knew he wasn’t going to play German in the 1st half, I wouldn’t have made the bet. He needs to be more considerate of the gambling community and make those discipline decisions public, lol!

Oh well. I should know better than to bet NIU with my heart and not my head. Will have to make up for it on the craps table tonight.

Speaking of Vegas, this would be a fun group to get into a poker game against. There is zero discipline here—-if we win, we are great...if we lose the world is crumbling. Not a single poker face in the crowd.

We have now played eight of the last nine games within a five point difference (including the last seven) and a total of 12 conference games within five points. On top of that—NINE games have been decided by three or fewer.

As today’s results prove—-this conference tourney is going to be a toss up in almost every single game.

The team that keeps its poise most often is going to win it. We have absolutely crumbled in some games, have had some crumble around us, and have grabbed some games, as well.

MD has had us a three seed at times and the eighth best team in the conference in the same breath. I can see where he infers that we lose the next two and Buffalo grabs the free trip to Cleveland if we don’t cheer for Bowling Green to beat them.

As a basketball fan this tourney will be most fun to watch—-the opportunity is close game after close game is incredible.

It’s time to relax and play the cards as the are dealt—-stay unemotional, be the most poised, beat your opponent and grab the prize in the middle of the table.

Strange. The line only changed a half point just before the game started on the web sites I checked. I am sure the smart betters knew that German was not starting and loaded up.
You should of check out the spread and made a wager with In Game betting when the game started.

This has probably been posted but had NIU won today I am pretty sure we would have locked up the third seed, granted we win one of the last two. The other games played out exactly how we needed them to....03-banghead

So NIU can get as high as a 3 or 4 seed. To get at least a 4 seed after Tuesday's games NIU just needs to beat Toledo, OR have a Buffalo loss to Miami-OH. To clinch the 3 seed Tuesday, NIU needs to beat Toledo AND have Ball State lose to CMU. And of course doesnt matter what happens Tuesday, NIU will get a 3 seed, if NIU beats Ball State Friday. And as long as UB drops 1 more game in its last 2, NIU is guaranteed no worse than 4 seed

Yeah, I had Huskies. Funny, another board member was in Atlantic City and I guessed line before knowing German was out for 1/2. He was smart enough to lay off. I'm just glad I didn't bet live.

If we could have converted a few more of our MAC games into wins, would a NIT invite have been a possibility. I think we are a one team conference for NIT also, but cant recall

Toledo made it in 2019, no one went in 2018.

Toledo was one of, if not the last team, selected as an at-large last season with a 25-7 record. That was with the MAC having its best season top to bottom in decades. No MAC team is getting an at-large this season. Akron or BGSU may find their way into the tournament as an auto-bid though.

True statement, Kreed. Toledo was an at large six seed. All the 7 and 8 seeds were automatic qualifiers as regular season champions that did not win their respective tournaments.

If they could get to 20 wins then maybe they would have a shot at the CIT or the CBI. Any chance to play more basketball would be good.
