End of an Era
Last game on Saturday in an air supported Dome. The last major structure in the world to use the SOA technology from the 70's.

I expect a crowd of 30,000 to see the Orange take on UNC.

Syracuse will Garner another attendance title this year.

Plus they are going to retire Big John Wallace's jersey at halftime. Thinking about going to hangout in the Cuse tomorrow.

Here are a few pics of what the new dome will look like, if you're interested. Just scroll down a little after clicking the link.

Too bad JB and Roy like each other. Would have been a cool touch if Roy had said something along the lines "The Tar Heels have officially shot the roof off the Dome."
Sort of Thompsonesq. That would have started a heated rivalry. The fans would have went nuts. I know Ol Roy is much too classy to do something like that.

Congrats to the Tar Heels. They looked like the best 3point shooting team in the nation in the second half.

I think these are great changes for Syracuse.

We have spent some time over the years in the Finger Lakes region as well as up by 1000 Islands New York. We always stay in a small town called Clayton – which is gorgeous.

However, a few years ago, I was up there for a football game between Pitt and Syracuse and the Dome was extremely disappointing. I had never been there before and I could not believe how old and run down and hot it was. It was just not remotely impressive at all.

Syracuse is a great program and a wonderful school. They deserve better. I think this new roof and I would imagine other renovations within the Dome are definitely overdue.

My summer home is real close to Clayton.

The new Dome roof will be part hard, part fabric
AC is coming by 2022
New LED lighting and scoreboard hopefully by this Fall

The stadium was built on the cheap. $27M in 1980 dollars. It is Spartan but I wouldn't call it run down. It isn't falling apart. It is on campus too and I'm not sure any other stadium in America is used as much as the Dome.
