We made it. The final regular season game is upon us. The last of the long grind that is the 2019-2020 season. There have been highs and lows and ups and downs. The season was always going to come down to a weekend in DC and we are quickly approaching said weekend. But before we make it to DC we have to make the trip from Wilmington to Charleston. Our team is not riding with much confidence at this point after another loss. Turnovers and lack of effort killed us, and a repeat of that effort, as has been common on the road, will doom us in this one too.
CofC is up and down. They have Riller who can make a bad team look good. They still miss Brantley. JB should be able to have a good game, but we have no way to stop Riller. This is a winnable game, but the way the back half of the season has gone, it is an unlikely positive blip headed into the tournament. While this team is not going to win the tournament, it would be really nice if we can play a strong road game heading into the tournament. Our freshman have had nearly a full season. Our team needs to grow up as well on the road. It is time to take that step forward. We cannot continue to take steps back.

Charleston- 80

Well they kept the game close but still a loss. Some might say that it's a moral victory that they were competitive against a stronger team playing in front of a packed house on senior day. I still say that Drexel is more talented than their record indicates and that this is still an unacceptable loss. They had plenty of opportunities throughout where they could have put themselves in a position to actually surprise people and win the game. But lazy turnovers and too many missed open shots continue to haunt them.
At least I can guarantee that they won't lose anymore road games for the rest of the year. I can also guarantee that they won't lose 20 games this year, which is the college basketball milestone for futility, similar to 100 losses in MLB.

RE: @CofC
A much higher percentage of teams lose 20 than lose 100 MLB games, so avoiding 20 losses is better than avoiding 100 MLB losses. Using five seasons as a sample, MLB had four teams lose 100 last year, three in 2018, none in 2017, one in 2016, and none in 2015. If the last two seasons are a trend, it's more common than it used to be, but for those five seasons it was done by 8 of 150 teams, which is 5 1/3 percent. For Men's Basketball I used 2018-2019 to have a complete season, and I only used one season because of how many teams there are. 86 of 353 teams (24.6 percent) lost at least 20 last season. That's 4.57 times the percent MLB had. Even MLB's seven in the last two seasons is less than half the rate of Men's Basketball last season. In order to be in the 24.6 percent of most losses in the last five seasons, MLB teams need at least 91 losses.
