DAC to be new home of Philadelphia Freedoms WTT Tennis Team
Didn't want to create a new thread but maybe this can help bolster future attendance...
Drexel hosts professional tennis
So yay for Drexel! It is a positive, but some of the quotes are a tad alarming.

2 years ago WTT hosted their league championship game at the DAC with Billie Jean King rooting on the Philadelphia Freedoms from the President Suite. I watched the replay of it on TV, and they did a really nice job sprucing up the look of the DAC. They even added their own video screens. Not sure the what the rental agreement is, but it's a great location for the Freedom's home court and hopefully generate a little bit of revenue for Drexel Athletics.

What is alarming? I didn't see a single quote from Fry or Ziller that I have an issue with. Everything is true and everything is rather positive.

Let's start with:
"We think of it as a boutique arena"- Seriously? That is how we want our sports venue to be viewed? As a boutique?
The part that bothers me the most pointed out elsewhere was:
Zillmer said its partnership with the Freedoms fits well into Drexel's ongoing efforts to build a wide-ranging ecosystem for its campus. "We have science, arts and technology and now we can add sports."
Super. NOW we can add sports. Where have our sports been? It points to our ignorance towards athletics and not actually caring to build up the sports we have, especially men's basketball, who by the way have been partaking in the sport in that building for a long time. Its quite pompous to make a statement like that.

I missed the one about sports. You're right, that is alarming. But he's been calling the DAC a boutique arena for years, ever since the renovation. That's exactly what it is, and isn't meant to be negative.

How is the place or arena (really a glorified gym) being called a boutique a positive?
