Thoroughly enjoyed seeing this broadcast. The interviews were great and our on court performance was as well. A statement win.
Couple of things:
1) Drexel puts up some of the most gruesome looking shots I've ever seen. Offensively, they play an ugly game. Not many textbook type shooters on that team. Launching shots at weird angles, hitches in the stroke, little ball rotation. One girl launches her attempts like a shot put. Painful to look at
2) We still have a LOT of work to do on handling pressing defenses. For a while it looked like the Maryland game.

Godawful refereeing again. I don't know where they left their rule books. Seems to be I have read something about over-the-back and also about tripping people.

We dominated all the good statistical categories.............but we also dominated, in a horribly bad way the ball handling stats. We had 26, yes TWENTY-SIX TURNOVERS, Drexel had 9. We did have 5 steals, but Drexel had 15. So there is a lot for us to work on. At half-time Denise knew that she had a free half to learn something for the future. So there was a game within the game, and so she used the second half to work on something and boy did she find a lot of good stuff to use for the next time they play us.

Every team has an achilles heel. Ours appears to be a lack of a guard with superior ball handling skills- the kind that can make you pay dearly for initiating press. And when we did pick up our dribble, it sure seemed we fired off a lot of high arching passes that were easy to pick off.
