In the TV world not really. But I think footprint does matters for schools with smaller athletic budgets. The MAC is a perfect example of this. Schools in that conference can save a ton of money on travel cost because they can bus to their games for all of their sports.

CUSA really needs to follow the MAC model. The days of CUSA and the Sun Belt getting a decent TV deal are gone due to the success of the AAC. It's long been time for CUSA to shed some pounds and get slimmer.

I do miss the SWC days.. Texas is such a special state with it's love for Football. They should have a Lone Star conference

Yes, the SWC and Big 8 were great conferences.

But change comes at a price. When the NCAA TV cartel was broken in 1984, it basically made their dissolution inevitable.
