Kent State leads by 7 after one half of basketball. Will there be enough popcorn and soda to feed The masses at the break?

12-point lead with 2 minutes should be safe. Right?

Nice win. The masses were easily fed since there weren’t any.

Can't afford to lose a home game against a bad team in late February and we didn't. Thought ball movement and shot selection was good tonight. Liked seeing us making an effort to get Whittington looks inside.

Did anyone see the Akron BG box score tonight? Akron was 5-35 from 3. Maybe even more incredibly all 35 attempts were from their starters. Williams was 0-8 from three (0-9 overall).

Nice win. Looking at the standings they are all big heading down the stretch...of course that depends on if you place a value on winning and seeding.

I estimate I have attended 1500 games and meets over the last 35 years. That means I have experienced about 6000 t shirt tosses. I still don’t have one!!!

I would be very interested to learn the Kent State athletics marketing budget. How much is allocated for stadium giveaways, promotional items, etc. And then how does that rank in the MAC.

Basketball T shirt giveaway budget $65k last year I was told. Some is deferred by sponsorships. Shirts I have seen are 100% cotton, good stuff not crap.

RE: Miami @ Kent State
Buffalo, Ball State, Kent State and Central Michigan. It is safe to assume that one of these teams will earn the four seed in the upcoming MAC tournament. Here is a peak at the rest of the road for each squad:

Buffalo:
vs. Akron
vs. Miami
@BG

Ball State:
@Toledo
vs. CMU
@NIU

Kent State
@Ohio
vs. BG
@ Akron

CMU
@Miami
@EMU
@ Ball State
vs. WMU

I think you can stick a fork in CMU. Three of four on the road. So that leaves the good guys, Ball State and Buffalo. The best thing I can say is lets see what happens this weekend. Kent State could find themselves in a three way tie (in the standings) with these two as the Flashes probably have the "easiest" of the three games.

Tried tonight at the women’s game. She gave the shirt to Josh Cribbs daughter.

Does $65K in t-shirts pay back?? I have no data but my guess would be no.

This has been discussed with my KSU friends
and consensus always is , $65K much better spent
On retaining Asst coaches. Long list of valued
Asst Coaches we have lost, many alumni that played
at Kent and helped to reinforce Kent pride.
, too depressing to me to list. We all know
Who they are

Wait, the 65 k was a real number not a joke? There are 16 home games this year? That would be over 4k in tshirts per game. Someone has to have misplaced a decimal somewhere right?

And 13 women’s games and 6 gymnastic meets and etc etc. I always go to all the winter sport home meets except for indoor track. There are usually around 40 events a year which means $1625 per event. There are anywhere from 5 to 10 tosses per game or $162 to $325 per toss. Doing this for 30 to 35 years is why I’m amazed one hasn’t hit me in the head by accident.

Yes Athletic Dept spends money on t-shirts and giveaways., but most have sponsorships. I personally have more Kent gear then I care to admit. if I do catch a shirt I give it to a casual fan or a kid. If nobody cared about the giveaways, then why are the fans standing and waving to get a free shirt. It is part of doing business and hopefully it helps promote whatever item that might be.

The 65k is total for all teams/seasons, not just basketball.
