NCHC Conference Standings Week of 2/24
1.NoDak 47
2. Duluth 41
3. WMU 35
4. Denver 34
5. SCSU 29
6. Omaha 24
7. CC 15
8. Miami 14

A tightening up of the race is what we saw last weekend. Several games where the "underdog" earned points. The picture got a little more interesting and seeding is still wide open in spots.

1. NoDak has locked up home ice, but still can finish anywhere between 1-3. Their magic number to clinch the 1 seed is 6. Their struggle this week for SCSU is a bit surprising.
2. Duluth can finish anywhere between 1-5, however they need just 1 more point, or SCSU to lose 1 point in order to lock into a home ice spot. Magic number of 6 to lock up the 2 seed.
3. WMU Can finish anywhere between 1-6 still. Magic number to host is 6 points.
4. Denver Can finish anywhere between 2-6. Magic number to host is 7. With a head to head this week v. SCSU something will give.
5. SCSU has kept their home ice dreams, (and playoff dreams alive). A very impressive weekend. Still have work to do, but they get a head to head vs. their main competition. The bad news for SCSU is they still have Duluth after Denver.
6. Omaha, looked like for sure they were going to jump to the 5th seed. With a series vs. NoDak and Miami ahead it's now 50/50 whether they can get there.
7. CC jumped to 7 but they now have Duluth and Denver to finish...yikes
8. Mimai fell to 8 but Omaha and WMU scoring 1 more point than CC seems likely.

Projected final standings, and tourney matchups.

1. NoDak v. 8 CC
2. Duluth v. 7 Miami
3. Denver v. 6. Omaha
4. WMU v. 6. SCSU

SCSU first round matchup is a nightmare for us. I know we dominated them a few weeks ago but they’re playing well right now.

However, if we play them and sweep them does that help our pairwise?

We need to win that first round matchup to get in the tourney regardless. Whether SCSU helps us more than Omaha will be determined with how SCSU finishes. SCSU is only slightly up on Omaha, they'll likely be worth about the same.
