Government Efficiency
Here's yet another example why I don't trust the government to do anything.

The Metro in DC has spent five years to build two still unfinished bike racks at Metro stations. They had budged $600,000 for each rack. Yes, I'm serious. Now, five years later, the cost of each rack is now $1.9 million. And, the project still isn't finished.

Yeah, I want these guys running my healthcare. 01-wingedeagle

RE: Government Efficiency
Let's just start with this....

'Medicare for all' is their cry.... yet Medicare doesn't currently cover childhood vaccinations, ANYTHIKNG related to reproduction (including abortion, birth, pre or post-natal care) and it only covers 80% of your hospitalization and rehabilitation costs. 20% of your ER bill is big money, and unlike a bronze plan, there is no OOP max.

Medicare supplements is a HUGE business.

There are also a large quantity of Medicare Advantage plans, which are private insurance... who take the money that Medicare SAYS it pays for people (actually less than it really pays for them) and very often gives you MORE care than Medicare does for the same (actually less) money.

These simple facts are lost on most, and politicians lie constantly about it. Instead, 'those evil greedy insurance companies' are the problem.

The fact that an insurance company can offer you more care for the same or less money and STILL make a profit really says a whole lot about how inefficient Medicare really is.

For anybody who thinks Medicare for all is a good idea, I have just two letters to ponder:
