He has JMU as a 12 seed vs 5 seed Missouri State in Chicago, with the winner likely to face 4 seed DePaul in Chicago.(A team the Dukes faced in the NCAA's in a fairly recent season). To be sure, the upcoming game with Drexel is huge.

Must be a while since CAA had 2 bids, good to see it's even considered. Wonder if Drexel would be considered if they lost the CAAT?

Since the northern teams joined in 2001-2002, the CAA has three at-large bids. In 2006-2007, ODU won the tournament and you and Delaware got at-larges. In 2008-2009, Drexel won the tournament and VCU got an at-large. I'm surprised it's been that long because the CAA is normally better at Women's Basketball than Men's Basketball. That's true this season, but the CAA Women's Conference RPI of 14th is worse than usual.

In the RPI, you're 41st and Drexel is 43rd. If Drexel wins every game until losing the Final to you, they would be considered. The Women have a 64 team tournament. They don't have a First Four, so it's harder for bubble teams to get in. I wonder if a conference has ever gotten multiple bids that were all 12 or worse.

JMU's record is so strong. If only our SOS was stronger, or we picked up a couple more wins. We're so close, and far from a top 8-9 seed.

Gotta be the breakthrough year.

The rest of the league has been a letdown this season. W&M is approaching 100, NU is like 130 and everyone is is over 150. So the margin for error is thin because everything is a bad loss. Typically there have been more teams inside the top 150 to help balance out. Usually we dont seem to have that truly awful team either, like Hofstra.

There is an article on ESPN listing the front runners for PotY in each conference in women's basketball. Kamiah Smalls is listed as the best in the CAA, with Eva Hodgson from W&M as the top contender, with a quick shoutout to Bailey Greenberg from Drexel.
