I was looking for comments about why he took off after the refs after the game today. Instead ... The dude proves why he's a good coach. Not one complaint about the refs. Just what they did right and wrong.

Yep ........... impressive. He's proven time and time again that he can develop & coach up players.

Not much patience for lazy uneducated questions either.

In that respect he's like watching Saban during a press conference.

Even with this I guarantee you that backseat drivers will STILL be telling coach what he needs to be doing. I remember the late Jeff Winberger was notorious for telling coaches what they should be doing. He was interviewing Tic Peice once and just before the interview ended, Coach Price invited Jeff to apply for the open assistant position since he was such an expert and that he could use the help. We have a ton of Jeff Winebergers on every game thread.

Yeah. I loved his demeanor in that interview. Wouldn't you hate to listen to that crap from reporters all the damn time? Goes with the territory, sure, but what a pain.

I met Coach Sampson in Portland a few years ago when he was an assistant with the Rockets. I stayed in the same hotel as they did.

Just a great guy. Talked to him for a good 5 minutes or so. He didn't have to waste his time on a schmuck like me but he was really a regular guy.

You can tell. I had a chance to spend some time with Tom Crean at the Vegas AAU tournament. He was really nice and very approachable too.
