Wow! What a game.
Up by 9 with 5:30 left. Down by 4 with less than 1 minute left.
German was FIRED up toward the end of regulation.

Told me they were frozen . Out at that time just before halftime

Yes I bought 2 hot dogs and was told they only had one left. Then they ran out of Dogma Beer as well by halftime.

So they promote cram the Convo and know there will be a bigger crowd, but they only have enough food for the usual 800? Makes sense.

I think UB/Akron/BGSU are your 3 teams to beat

That was one hell of an exciting game! Both teams played with high intensity. My heart is just starting to beat normally again.

We brought some guests so we all sat in the upper bowl. Lots of people there.

To have enough fans to cause enough of a emotional reaction from CMU players, brings a tear to my eye. NIU needs to market THE HECK out of the Ball State game March 6th, there needs to be AT LEAST 4000 in the Convo for that game. A first round bye will likely be the prize for that game.

Everything worked out yesterday....

Saturday afternoon game
WBB game ...many fans stayed to watched the men play
Kids events good turnout thanks to the afternoon start time
Saw some fraternity members at the game..need more of that

Based on strength of schedule I dont get how Gonzaga gets ranked so high..
Lower half of Top 25 maybe but being ranked number 2 seems too high

Yesterday was a good teaching moment for the coaches. They had 2 decent size leads (6 to 9) points in the second half that disappated pretty quickly. Way too many 3 point plays when a foul was committed on a shooter as he made the basket. Good to see the players not give up. Gutsy play in the overtime as both James and McCarty had 4 fouls. Not sure why the referees had to video review the final play as it had no affect on the final outcome.

Cochran close to getting a foul called on the last play layup to end the game. He needed to clear out but he did challenge the layup.

To be clear, I do not think they were reviewing Cochran play, just the clock. That said, independent of that when it happened in real time I was worried about a foul being called on Cochran. That would have been brutal.

Have you really looked at their schedule?
They did beat Oregon when the Ducks were ranked in top 11...
and then lost Battle 4 Atlantis championship to Michigan for first loss.
They beat a then top-23 rated Washington on the road...
They beat a then top-15 rated Arizona on the road...
They beat a then top 23 North Carolina....
Those three were the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th wins in a 19-game win streak that had them unbeaten in the West Coast Conference. I'm sure you don't respect the WCC but staying unbeaten in any conference is not always easy. However, the WCC is projected to get two bids and does include teams with NCAA pedigrees like St. Mary's -- which beat NIU 61-49 -- BYU, Loyola Marymount, and Pepperdine.
There are 22 other conferences projected to get only one bid, including the MVC, MAC, and C-USA.
So the 19-game win streak is ended in a conference road loss to BYU and your record is still 27-2?
Keep in mind the four ranked programs they beat and the one they lost to before assuming the rest of the schedule is soft prior to scoffing at the idea that they're outscoring opponents by 20 points per game.
They've got at least five "Quad 1" wins with one "Quad 1" loss. There isn't a single MAC team that has six "Quad 1" opponents on its schedule.

I have never seen this mentioned, forgive me id it has.

I sat in the upper bowl but don't remember (last being 2, maybe 3 yrs ago max) these seats being so cheap and even rows them being wobbly in spots. I also noticed a few broken seats not to mention stress cracks on the underside of countless seats.

On the hot dog front, did I really see them only throw 2 into the crowd for the give away???

Halftime entertainment, an national anthem singer and a loud music and PA made it seem like a real event and a bigger one at that. Great job today to NIU Athletics. Now take what you did today and do it for other games. 3000 needs to be our bottom not top!

Good point dc. Hope they enjoyed an exciting game and come back. Like you said athletics need to get the ball rolling to bring these fans back.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a great atmosphere. It was similar to last special Saturday I went to a couple years ago.

I wouldn't say 3,000 for every games, but for games like this it's a good number.I think no less than 2000 should be expected for any weekend, 1500 during the week, That would be in line with most of MAC I am guessing.

Yes, I sat in the upper bowl for the first time yesterday. I also saw the wobbly and broken seats. My group was very careful where we sat. The seats are even quite wobbly in our season ticket area. My wife always seems to get her knees smashed when the person in front of her plops down in his seat.

Yes, I think I saw 2 hot dogs, too. They became quite scarce early in the game. It wouldn’t surprise me if those hot dogs were frozen or quite cold.

Considering the number of "and 1's" they were given in the last 10 minutes of the game, I would not have been surprised.

Old time NIU, I bet if the women’s game started at 3:30 and the men’s game started at 6pm the crowd would’ve been even bigger.
