WSU at SMU musings...
The Mustangs welcome Hitachi back to Moody on Sunday in what is a HUGE opportunity for WSU. For the Ponies: not so much.

Right now it looks as if (regardless of who wins this one) they'll finish 4-5 in the conference which sets up a potential rematch in Fort Worth.

If the Shocks win at Moody on Sunday they probably have enough cred to get to the dance. The Ponies: not so much.

What's really sad here is that these two teams could end up with exactly the same win/loss records when the season is said and done. But the WSU record is against legit teams while the Ponies played the weakest OOC money could buy, played no holiday tourney and had the benefit of a generous AAC schedule. So while WSU (most likely) gets a shot at March Madness SMU will be lucky with an NIT invite....maybe even a home game or two.

FIRE JANK! The weak schedule and the "blown lead" losses at Georgia and Temple
are on him. He reeks of mediocrity in everything he does. He gotta go.

Meanwhile: back to the subject at hand. Can SMU maintain it's undefeated at home in conference record? Or will WSU achieve a little payback for the first time we met as conference foes?

Remember that one Shockies? That time when you came into the AAC telling us all that your second string could handle all of us? All SMU did was give you your FIRST home conference loss. That was fun.

Whatever happens Sunday....and potentially next month in Cowtown: good luck.
I think I can speak for (almost) everyone: we like having you here.

Fans reminiscing about past seasons’ Super Bowls because they have nothing else to reminisce on. The more things change, the more they stay the same. I bet Evansville fans still boast about how they managed to beat us during our Final Four year.

Jank doesn't lose at Moody. It's why he is getting a lifetime contract.

We may not win... But I feel way more confident knowing that Shake Milton won't be suiting up again.. have nightmares of that game and him basically pulling up from half court

On topic though. It's the Best AAC defense vs the best AAC offense so it could get interesting. If WSU can hit open looks (which they haven't been lately), there should be lots of opportunity for them to get some momentum. Defense has been pretty solid but SMU will be the best offense that WSU has played all year.

BTW, Shake got the start again for the Sixers last night. Finished with 19 points (5-of-5 from deep) and 4 dimes.

You are guaranteed open looks. It’s our specialty. I think it’s SMU that needs the big game from outside. I just dont see them getting to the hoop much or a whole lot in transition. Shooting percentage and rebounding will tell the tale IMHO.

I often wonder if the Sixers let Shamet go because they saw potential in Shake.... or did they just get lucky?

I think the Sixers let Shamet go because the Clippers wanted him in the trade.

Thanks to Jank we witnessed an epic meltdown instead of getting to see Shake go off for 39 points and 5 assists against Shamet’s Clippers. #Jank’d
