3 home games in the first 5 weeks of the season. Can't get much better than that for a MAC schedule.

My early gut reaction (and a lot could change by September)...

@Kentucky-L
Coastal Carolina-W
Northern Illinois-W
@Missouri-L
Central Michigan-W
@Ohio-W
@Army-L
Toledo-W
@Western Michigan-L
@Ball State-W
Bowling Green-W
@Miami-L

7-5 (6-2, MAC) 4th bowl in 5 years.

And the frosting on the cake: Homecoming October 3 vs CMU.

Early October date and our #1 rival.

Good for the fans, but no real BYE week for the players. They have a mini one before their Tuesday game against BSU.[/align]

I'm the eternal optimist. Give us one more non-con win (you choose) and a win against WMU. 9-3, 7-1 in the MAC. EMU in the MAC title game, huge sea of Green at Ford Field.

Since we don't have a Big Ten opponent, an SEC win would be nice....

I don't think Missouri's that special. Missouri = Illinois = Purdue?

I'm hoping to make that trip to the army game. Mid October at West Point sounds beautiful to me.

Right behind you with that sentiment Frank! Two home games in September and only one MAC money chasing midweek game that is on the road! Like Steve said, GREAT SCHEDULE!

And don't forget the very early homecoming game vs Central.

Nothing worse than a late October homecoming game with cold weather.

I think that CMU game could be huge in terms of setting the tone for the whole season. Great chance to be at least 2-2 with an outside shot at 3-1 (like WoodenNickle pointed out Missouri is nothing special and I feel the same about Kentucky). If that happens I could see getting a huge crowd building off the QL bowl, a decent start, CMU, homecoming, decent weather, etc.

So a shot to get to 3-2 (maybe 4-1) and 2-0 in the MAC with a win. That'd set up for a special season and would make for a great atmosphere.

Seems about right.

Sorry but this makes NO sense to me.

When a school has only 5 home games, it seems that September will be 1 (or hopefully two), Oct. 2 and Nov 2 (or 1).

If the MAC is kind to us, we get NIU Sept 19 and two MAC home games in October and only ONE in November.

That wasn't serious. I was poking fun at our typically poor schedule.

You have to sympathize with the local business owners. Yet if the University simply follows the usual government strategy of adhering to past practices while expecting a different enrollment result, then shame on them. This could be an absolute bust or a fantastic success, an outcome that will only be revealed once the product gets an actual test.
