Although the underlying offenses may not have been all that severe (tied to having too many coaches at practice in both sports and some additional recruiting ones for basketball from what I can tell), it sounds to me like Narduzzi got off way too light. They clearly knew they were cheating and even developed a system specifically to prevent them from getting caught.
