Houston 11-3

Tulsa 9-4

Witchita State 7-5
Memphis 7-6
Prediction:
Houston - W
@ SMU- W
@ Tulane- W
Witchita State- W
@ Houston- L
11-7 conference record. 4th seed in AAC tournament. Win 2. Overall record 24-9. 10 seed in the West.
Book it.
And I talked to DJ at halftime last night. He said he would be back in 3 weeks, in time for the tournament. BOOM!
Great thoughts, hope it happens. One problem with the math is tournament play. If we do win the first two games mentioned, would put us in the final, loss there would put us at 24-10. With that record and number of “bad losses”, along with large number of bids going to Big 10 and the other darlings of the NCAA, will most likely leave us on the outside looking in.
Really believe Tigers will need to win the AAC Tourney to get in. Hope I’m wrong, but see the above more likely. Of course could possibly get in with a play in game, (first 4), which to me is basically a penalty by NCAA.
GTG!
Math was never my strong suit.

RE: It's wide open boys
The odds of us getting an at-large go way up if we get to 22 wins overall, and 13 AAC wins INCLUDING the conference tourney. Those are sort of the historical magic numbers for the AAC.
In the history of the conference (excluding the first year with a different configuration)...the AAC has had 14 teams reach at least 13 AAC wins and 22 overall. 12 of those teams made the tourney. So the historical odds are 86%.
There was one auto-qualifier in that group that may not have received an at-large had they not won the tourney (2016 UConn). So even if you throw that one out, you still have 11 out of 14 for 79% odds.
With only 12 AAC wins, odds are much lower. Only 2 AAC teams with fewer than 13 conference wins (including the tourney) have ever made the NCAA. This includes 7 teams with 20+ overall wins - so only 29% odds.
So how do we get to 13 and 22? Gotta win 6 more games. That would put us at 13 and 24. Every AAC team that has had 24 overall wins has made the tourney. That means an at-large is still in play, but we have to first win 3 of the remaining 5 (bare minimum).

I'd love it if we went 4-1 over these final games.
I also wouldn't be shocked if we went 1-4 in them.

I have always thought that the best way to look at a college basketball team is the same way you look at your children. Over the years, even if some are more successful than the others, you love them equally and support them equally. Actually, the one or ones that aren't as successful need your support even more.
We are entitled to have student athletes that don't break the law, are good people and who fulfill their academic requirements. Other than that, you hope that they work hard on the court and aren't selfish. Other than that, they don't owe us anything, they don't owe us wins or NCAA appearances or anything.

Meh, I get it. But as fans who pay to attend games or as season ticket holders or financial contributors to the scholarship fund aren't we entitled to expect a quality product? I'm no longer able to attend or have season tickets but I do still contribute what I can to the TSF.
I'm not going to be be upset with losses any longer though, I've tempered my expectations and come to expect them this year. When apathy sets in it's never a good thing. If it sets in to the levels we saw during Tubby's tenure it won't be pretty.
