ECU now transitioning to remote.
UNC-Charlotte starting classes remote, transition to in-person later.
That definitely puts ECU fall football and potentially Charlotte's in doubt. ECU is shutting campus down a week from today. Students may remain on campus after that by exception only.
Hopefully, that exception is football players.
That might be the only way universities can save football. When all students were on campus COVID19 was spreading quickly, after just two weeks.
It is on an exception bases which includes football and other athletes, as well as international & hardship cases, etc.
ECU Interim Chancellor says, "We've got a game scheduled Sept. 12 against Marshall, we are playing it!" He said this emphatically as if there is no way we're not playing it, although he cautioned that it will be at limited capacity. (See link to video below)

ECU vs Marshall moved up a week to 8/29
In this period, “no way” is not a good phrase to use. Nothing is for sure.

We will be playing Marshall on the 12th. But there won’t be any fans there in all likelihood

More cases today in different residence halls, getting most students off campus can't happen soon enough. Other schools should see what happens it will be the same anywhere a bunch of college kids are gathered.
