But in the end, it's a business based on wins. They still lost and lost 7 of 8. Good coaches don't let their teams lose 7 out of 8 games four years into their coaching tenure.

maybe we should be honest with ourselves that we're a women's basketball school. that's a step up from a squash and crew school in my book.

honestly i'm not following close enough to make any kind of call about the coach. i was ready to buy in after homecoming weekend...but not now. at least the big east is entertaining this year so i have some kind of college basketball to watch. penn state is improved too.

The coach can have a lot to do with what kind of school Drexel is. Back in the 90's {I know I sound like the introduction to the TV show 'Schooled'} Men's Basketball dominated the campus with Bill Herrion running the show, while women's basketball was a joke. The concern is that if Denise leaves, will women's basketball continue to sustain a strong program for a long period of time. Next year will tell everything about Spiker. I do think that the program could be peaking from a talent/experience standpoint. If they don't at least compete for a championship next year, will Spiker ever be able to get it done? This was the first year in a long time that Drexel couldn't use injuries as an excuse. Other than Doles, everyone was healthy. And the season still turned into a failure. Our current administration just seems OK with a mediocre team as long as they have a coach who represents the school in a positive manner.

My tweets about Butler were liked by St. Raymond of Peñafort Roman Catholic Church in Springfield, VA. Since that isn't near Drexel, I figured it must be near where Butler is from, and I was right. Butler is from Fairfax Station, which is two towns northwest of Springfield. I can't know for sure, but I'm guessing he went to church there.

The way you present a team and program on campus matters greatly. How you pump up fans matters.

Your team likes the both ends of the alphabet. Bickerstaff, Butler, Walton, Washington, and Wynter have combined for 74.2 percent of your points, 75.8 percent of your rebounds excluding team rebounds, 70.9 percent of your assists, 61.3 percent of your steals, 75.6 percent of your blocks, 62.6 percent of your minutes, 73.9 percent of your field goal attempts, and 78.4 percent of your free throw attempts.

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket...win-buzzer praised you for something old. It's titled "Eastern Illinois erases 27-point second-half deficit to win at buzzer." Eastern Illinois trailed 50-23 with 11:30 left. They made a long three at the buzzer to win 63-60. Eastern Illinois entered 12-14, including 10-14 against Division I. Murray State entered 19-7, and their lost gave Austin Peay sole possession of first in the Ohio Valley. The article ends by saying:

"Eastern Illinois' 27-point comeback is the largest comeback regardless of time remaining since Drexel overcame a 34-point deficit to beat Delaware in 2018 in what was the largest comeback in D-I history."

The question is whether any coach can get us to where we were in the 90s. I’m 18 or 19 seasons into following this program and at this point I’m not so sure.

What could spiker do better? Recruiting is my concern...but I’m more interested in X’s and O’s since we can’t expect to get top recruits. He was billed as a run and gun coach but I don’t see too much of that. I have seen enough to say there’s nothing we do particularly well. I don’t see an identity. Correct me if i’m wrong.
