Agree Bill.

Here's my thing with Burke and the whole can he recruit debate. If that dude walked up into my house with his energy level and passion and told me dance in a bathtub full of grandma's potato salad, I'd do it twice.

His record so far is not good and that is just a fact-like it or not and I don't care about the roster, schedule or any other excuse.

You're a joke. That's ALL you cared about when defending McGrath.

I am not defending McGrath in any way but I know you have a tough time seeing that. He is not the coach but you continue to bash the guy-it's pathetic. You gotta win or least show some improvement and I don't see it right now. I like Burke but hell I also liked CB and he got fired so there you go.

All you talked about was the roster McGrath was left with(which included Cacok, Talley, Fornes, Taylor, Marcus Bryan) a roster that would destroy the roster Burke is working with now. You used that excuse until he was fired yet you don't acknowledge the problems with this roster at all. So there you go.

Is McGrath a nice person? By all accounts yes, and seemingly nobody dislikes him in this capacity.

Was McGrath a good head coach? No. Not even close.

Those two things aren’t one in the same.

I would love to hear anyone defend him as a good coach. Mullet?

How many conference wins did McGrath have this season? Mind you, most of his conference games were played with Toews on the roster also, meaning two capable PGs vs just one.

How many does Burke have?

Tell us more about how you look at the records if it pleases the crown sir?

Comparing him to CB is not really fair to the program as a whole. When Burke got the job there was talk about what it would take for him to be considered and by that I mean win/loss record . I am also not sure having Toews was a plus other than it gave you depth at PG. He played uninspired to be nice about it.
Just not sure that 3-6 is showing enough improvement and that includes at least 2 games that were not close. They have played a little better overall and at times pretty damn good but is that enough? Maybe he can turn it around here and go 3-0 because that would make him a real candidate but right now I just don't see it as being a deal for him.

You’re all over the place Mullet. You make statements you can’t factually defend.

“You have to win or at least show improvement.”

You didn’t quantify that, at all. You just made an ignorant blanket statement and then try to shift the goal posts once the facts are presented to you.

Another poster asked how you don’t see improvement. Instead of quantifying your statement you instead resort to another ignorant of the facts claim to back yourself up.

“Just looking at the record.”

Noooow you want to quantify that. Lol

Just give it up dude. None of my post was an “attack” on CB. He’s not the coach anymore. I was merely highlighting that Burke has a few decent to quality wins with less options than CB had. I don’t care who the better coach is between them because that’s irrelevant. You’re trying to make some of us stating the actual facts to somehow being an attack on CB? No. That’s nonsense.

How about you just formulate some opinions you can factually support.

Look Bud,it's pretty easy to see they are better but who is to say that is good enough with a bad record, 3-6 is bad, really bad. I don't know what else you want somebody to say about it. It is not rocket science here and even you should be able to understand. It will boil down to his record in the end just like it does for every other coach. I would like to see him win enough to be considered but it's not going great for him right now.
Its is about bashing McGrath for you guys to an extent and it's just a waste of time. We all know he lost a bunch of games and got fired-that's how it works and if Burke doesn't win some more games he is most likely not getting the job.

You’re ignoring my point. I’m not saying he should or shouldn’t get the job. Like you, I like him and will 100% support him if he gets it, but I don’t know if what’s he’s done so far will be enough or not. I’m saying you’re not good at making points and defending them with facts.

You’re quote right there would meet your basic requirements for “show improvement.” All I’m saying is you should’ve quantified what you think an appropriate amount of improvement was vs simply and ignorantly originally arguing they haven’t shown any improvement.

It’s not. At all. I don’t even care to count how many posts I made supporting him prior to his firing, nor do I care to count all the posts I’ve made since supporting him as a person and defending that.

None of this is about him anymore. It’s about Burke and whomever else applies for the job. So far, Burke is the ONLY coach we know for a fact is being considered because he’s stated as much about making the decision hard on Jimmy. Anyone else is speculation at this point. That’s who this is about. Him and anyone else in the running. Past coaches are irrelevant. The current roster and their results throughout the entirety of this season are relevant. Burke is relevant. Future coaching candidates are relevant. It’s not about anyone else. Quit twisting it.

The record is what will determine his future here and if he wins the next 3-maybe he gets the job. At least 2 out the next three is what I said and I really don't know what is hard to understand about that. I am not gonna get into breaking down every game because I have not seen every game. The CAA is not a good league and they should at least compete is how I see it. I don't take it personal that you can't understand that and really who cares?

This team wouldnt have a win without Phillips. You could see us get out of control and our offense fall apart when he went out. JMU really took advantage of his absence with the full court press.
