Defense - Very good. They foul a lot, but that comes with aggressive D.
Offense - Fast=TO's, however freshmen shouldn't be playing like freshmen in Feb.
This team will be back, minus one, and should be much better next season.
Hope Penny hires a veteran coach for the staff in the off season.

Tony Madlock is a veteran coach.

Then maybe Penny needs to listen to him more

Eh...

Penny has a narrative he can tell with DJ's injury. If DJ doesn't get injured and we are still in this situation than yes he would be screwed.

Whether that narrative turns out to be factual...Who knows...But right now it is feasible. We are struggling because we lost our guys.

If DJ doesn't get hurt the easy narrative for other coaches to tell is Penny cant coach. Any logical person could deduce if you have your second best player you win these last 3 games.

Two good things have come from this season.

First, we have team defense that is quite good. That will pay dividends moving forward.

Second, Precious will go first round. Incoming players wanting to one-and-done can look at Precious. It can happen here even in a bad year.

Yep...

Penny was a top 15ish recruit and is projected to go top 15...That is actually out performing your class ranking when you factor in overseas players.

Penny is still Penny. He'll always be marquee. As far as recruiting goes, it was just a strange set of circumstances which led to the season being what it is. I think he's done a credible job given the things he's had thrown at him.

Maybe he should. I know there have been 4 or 5 points made consistently on this board since the beginning of the season that Penny is not conceding to.

Bottom line, answering the thread title, is that our basketball team might be about what it has been for the past . . . however long it's been since we were any different from this year. The sun will still rise.

This year sucks. C'est la vie. All parties involved are doing their best, but inexperience and injuries are a problem.

We will succeed.

Eventually.

I'm gonna rephrase question, best case scenario
We win tourney and do damage at the dance
We must Bust the Trey for this to happen
We've got talent, get it together and let's get this done

I'm just glad our players and coaches aren't quitters like you are. They show up to practice, they play their a$$es off every game, and give it all they have. Our coaches never stop coaching them up, and are relentless recruiters.

In contrast, you are a selfish, whiny, bitc# quitter.

Nah, two more. ECU and at Tulane. Any other win would be an upset.

You sure the coaches are showing up for practice? And when they do... they show up on time?

Just sayin

I want this program to succeed and Penny to be the one to lead it...but adjustments must be made or it will not happen.
