Good call on Avery and a well placed and executed counter to boot. Told you I have a short memory.

Also, the truth is I am a picture of the apathy you describe. So much so that I no longer have an Interest in the why/how this happened. Instead I hope the right people will work to change it and I’ll hold dear the memories of 4,500+ at Saturday OU/Miami/Bracketbuster Saturday games.
Perhaps allowing a peewee basketball club to include Across The Field in their routine doesn’t help, but the discussions on this board are far from national news.

In regards to the lack of true PGs in today's game and us winning from going inside out in Hall's Sr year, there's been a noticable shift in this direction across all levels in recent years. Currently the NBA assist leader is a SF/PF and #3 is a SG. If you watched the skills contest on Saturday night it was dominated by the bigs and no big missed on the pass. The guards missed several passes. One of the announcers made a comment that it shouldn't have been that big of a surprise because "point guards don't know how to pass anymore". Honestly anymore what you really want is your top scorer to be someone who passes well and makes players around him better. If you have that you run the offense through him and the value of a PG is lessened. If you don't have that you need a true PG but even then it's tough because your high usage guy is going to have the ball a lot. That's what I always thought made the Avery Walker backcourt awkward. Avery was a great true PG that made players around him better, but Walker was our high usage scoring machine and most of what he did was creating his own shot. So it really prevented Avery from being as impactful as he honestly should have been.

It makes me wish Avery, Walker and Hall played in the early 90s under Lenny W. Or under Jim Christian.

The bad: playing the Ohio State fight song at halftime.

If true, the band director should be relieved of his duties. So many other things they can play.

The band didn't play it. It was a part of the show for the elementary dribble team that performed at halftime. Can we stop sharting on the band now? I think Kent State's history of doing that leads the program to it's current state.
To the dribblers' defense it was part of their show. I was impressed at how they got 80-100 elementary kids to dribble without basketballs going in every direction. They show they rehearsed had Ohio State's fight song. Also to their defense, they sat in the nosebleeds and screamed their heads off. I'd welcome them back.

If some HT show had the OSU fight song so be it. If the KSU band had played it, I would have stuck to my opinion the director should go. You don't play another schools fight song. PERIOD.

The little Kids performing at half time were from Ravenna Southeast Elementary School. The school fight is Across The Field, which is the OSU fight song. The school I teach at has On Wisconsin as their fight song. save the fake outrage for the Something else. It took me 5 minutes of research to find this out. Stop the 2nd class syndrome. You guys sound like OU alums complaining that their band is better than OSU or trying make it so OSU can's use Ohio in its name or the block O or some outlandish BS. We're better than this
