I know it's unlikely this happens considering how Memphis has played lately, but I genuinely think if you guys were to win your next 2, then go 1-1 in the conference tourney you would get an at large bid

Especially when another one bites the dust.

It is my understanding the Tigers have an 8% chance of beating both WSU and Houston. I am not betting the house. 03-wink

RE: Conference Tournament bracket as of today
Everything is up for grabs still aside from tulane being locked in as the 12 seed. Houston, Tulsa, and Cincinnati will be the 1-3 seeds but the order is still undetermined. Wichita looks like a good bet to be the 4 as long as they can win tonight or Sunday, in fact they’ll clinch the 4 seed with a win @memphis tonight. There is still potential for a four way tie for 4th place. Seeds 8-11 still very much undecided as well.

Yup. Though they have Houston @Houston on Sunday... So that's a tall task for any team. So the 4 seed likely comes down to whether WSU can beat Tulsa at home

I think Memphis could fall to the 7 seed if we lose to Houston, which is likely.

There could still be a 4 way tie for 4th if Memphis and Wichita both lose and SMU and UConn both win.

I haven't done the tiebreaker math yet, but if that happens, we are 2-4 head to head with that group. The 3 teams above us (Tulsa, UH, UC), we are so far 2-2, with at Houston left to play.

So tiebreakers don't look good for us. We have to figure out a way to win at Houston, lol.

Check this out. AACT Seed Calculator.

bball.notnothing.net/aac.php?sport=mbb

Pretty cool. The un-played games have the favorite in red. Hit submit, and you can see the final seeds, assuming all the favorites in red win the remaining games.

You can also change any of the predicted results in red, then hit submit again, and see how it affects the seeding.

For example, right now, if Memphis beats UH, we are the 4 seed. Lose and we could be the 5 to 7 seed, depending on other results.

From messing with that site, for the 4 seed between WSU and Memphis, it's WSU has it all scenarios but 2.

1. Memphis Beats Houston
2. Memphis loses to Houston, WSU Loses to Tulsa, SMU loses to USF and UCONN loses to Tulane.

Please don't lose to Tulsa a second time.

Actually, the best draw situation for Memphis is to lose to UH, and have Tulsa beat Wichita. We would wind up the 5 seed, but avoid UH and UC until the final.

I think UCF will end up as the 8 or 9 seed. Temple is not likely to win @Cincy, and USF could also lost at home to SMU. Our last game is ECU at home.

Here is everyone’s records in the AAC tournament along with their highest finish.

Cincinnati: 9-4 (Championship x2)
Connecticut: 11-5 (Championship)
ECU: 2-5 (Quarters)
Houston: 6-6 (Runner-Up)
Memphis: 6-6 (Runner-Up)
SMU: 8-3 (Championship x2)
Temple: 3-6 (Semis)
Tulane: 2-5 (Semis)
Tulsa: 3-5 (Semis)
UCF: 3-6 (Semis)
USF: 1-6 (Quarters)
Wichita St.: 3-2 (Semis)

For the record Louisville is 3-0* and Rutgers went 1-1.

Ironically for WSU, the best AAC tourney path would be Lose to Tulsa, Houston beats Memphis, UCONN and SMU both win. Would put WSU at the 4 with Houston, Cincy, UCONN, Memphis, and Temple all on the other side.

WSU would have the winner of Tulane/SMU, then Winner of Tulsa, USF, UCF to get to the championship. Based on how WSU has struggled vs Houston, Cincy, Memphis and Temple the last few years .. that's our best scenario. BUT would also likely kill at-large chances by losing to Tulsa at home.
