Because of Wendy Larry? Or because of the way she was treated at the end of her tenure?

I posed it broadly for that reason; I don't know enough about what happened to make a declarative statement but enough to know that there were (are?) bad feelings related to the end of her time there.

Had to do with the way ODU handled Wendy's departure as well as the downward spiral that Karen Barefoot spearheaded the WBB program. Glad Wendy is responding positively to Coach Mccray's outreach to her. Can't wait to see a video or photo of Wendy at Chartway Arena cheering these young ladies on. Go Monarchs!

That would be good, I agree. In fairness, wasn't there also an APR issue with Wendy's teams by the end? That said, none of that should stand in the way of a resurrection of ties between coach and program. Especially now that McCray might have them positioned for something greater.

Yep, I believe APR issues were somewhat in the mix as well. Thanks for the reminder.

She was beloved by ODU fans. I remember her driving around in a golf cart in the tailgate lots during the first couple of years of football and being mobbed by well wishers. Her last few years at ODU were rough. Like Blaine, I think she was burned out from working twice as hard to recruit and develop players that others over looked. It was brutal competing against Tennessee and Uconn. Selig treated her like crap when he arrived.
