If the Dodgers don't come back and win the series, that will be the moment used to explain why the most talented team five years running still hasn't won a World Series.
That play was more on Taylor and the cutoff man, imo.

RE: 2020 MLB Thread
Have to give Dave Roberts some credit. I thought taking May out of game 5 when he did was iffy. I thought having Treinen pitch the ninth was nuts. But it worked.

I hope Kershaw doesn't throw another pitch this year.

If it comes to a Game 7 he'll have to do at least an inning.

I don't know about it. They could easily have Buehler for 6 innings and Urias for 3 innings....

What's the over/under on the number of outs Gonsolin gets in his game 6 start? I'll go with 4.

I think if Zunino could've drawn a walk/hit just now, you would have been spot on.

Shame Snell's talents are being wasted in this generation of 4 and 5 inning starts. His stuff is absolutely filthy. If he had a longer leash he would develop into an all-time great.

Looks like Roberts wanted Gonsolin to go once through the order, let him pitch a second time to Choi because he struck him out the first time, and definitely didn't want him to pitch a second time to Arozarena who hit a HR in the first inning. Solid strategy.

I just don't understand pulling him. I could maybe rationalize it if Anderson was a shutdown guy but he's been shaky in the playoffs. Like I said, Snell is being wasted in this generation.
Edit: Its basically deja vu of game 6 of the ALCS. Pull him at the first sign of trouble and immediately the bullpen gives up the lead.

RE: 2020 MLB Thread
The more I look into it, the dumber I think that move was. Anderson had given up a run in his previous 6 (now 7) outings. Snell was dealing. If they actually had a stat sheet that said taking out your ace, after he gives up his 2nd hit in 5+ innings of work and replacing him with a STRUGGLING closer, was a plus move they need to throw that sheet away and fire whoever made it. I mean I've been pulling for Tampa because they're the little guy but that move makes me want to see them lose. Stupid shouldn't be rewarded.

Kind of sucks that the Dodgers are going to win this season and Brookes isn't here to give all of us our deserved Holy Hell.

RE: 2020 MLB Thread
MLB is going to have to answer a helluva lot of questions about the covid testing procedure. They messed up.
Also: MLB orders the Dodgers to take covid-positive Turner out of the game in the 7th inning, but he's with the team after the game, posing for a team photo without a mask.

With the season over I think it'll be swept under the rug.

On the plus side, he will have a little extra rest before the next game ;(
I wonder if Cash was also thinking about using Snell in relief for game 7, had they finished out game 6.

RE: 2020 MLB Thread
So... is this a good time to brag about the Dodgers?
And not being dead?
I wasn't here in October to rub all y'all's noses in the WS win because I got to the point where CSNBBS was just too far down the priority list. I logged out in the spring to focus on new work, managing the family through COVID insanity here in California, and partly because this place got more than a little bit aggravating. After a while I kind of got used to not logging in.
But eventually I got a little curious to see how y'all reacted and some of the comments are properly hilarious. I'm sure you can imagine how pissed/worried/freaked out I was at that ridiculous Game 4 loss. It was incredibly difficult not to start thinking about all the other crazy @#$% LA had been through in previous playoff runs and conclude that we were doomed. But the good guys ( ) prevailed and restored order to the universe. I'm almost carefree as I look at the Dodgers moves (or lack thereof) this offseason. Of course, I reserve the right to call for Friedman's head NEXT offseason if he loses Seager and/or doesn't make a huge splash.
Anyhoo, I probably won't post as much going forward - just too busy - but I'll pay attention and check in from time to time. Cheers!
