Can you point to the section of the Constitution that makes any of the BS you listed as the responsibility of the federal government? Thanks!

All the Libs crying about those four issues and yet they've been around even in the Oblunder administration which was there for 8 years and nothing was done. Oh my, but did they think Oblunder was incompetent because he ignored these? No, because he's a Demoncrap.

They were there long before Obama. Have been there for decades under every combination of White House and Congressional control

OK, here are my ideas to solve them.
-Public university tuition costs - tie student loan amounts to the expected productivity of the degree to be obtained; emphasize vocational education and trade schools
-Healthcare costs - adopt Bismarck universal private health care/insurance
-Stagnant wages - revise our tax laws and regulatory procedures to attract capital investment in high-tech industries that can pay higher wages
-Corporations throwing a few billion at lobbyists to make trillions - I don't think this is as big a problem as you obviously do, but things I would do to help would include moving a number of regulatory agencies out of Washington, DC, and spread them around the country both to put them back in touch with American people and to make lobbying a lot harder; set limits on the amount that can be spent on political campaigns and require that any amounts contributed in excess of that amount be turned over tot he government and applied to reduce the national debt; cut back on congressional compensation and perks to make it less attractive to spend a lifetime there.

I have toyed with the idea of limiting corporate campaign contributions in direct relationship to the number of citizens they employ.

For illustration, let's say an individual could donate $1000. His employer should be able to donate $750. The voice of the individual can, if he desires, be louder than his employers. The employer still has a political voice, as they should, since they too are subject to the laws of the land.

I think some variant of this would protect everyone's right to participate, but put some logical restraint on corporate money and influence.

Absolutely.

However that still doesn't account for the fact that the framework of this country doesn't allow for the federal government to be responsible for any of the crap that the leftists want.

Tenth Amendment:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

If California or Illinois or New York want to undertake any of the things listed then they should go for it. It's their Constitutional right to do so.

But it's not the responsibility of the federal government.

I dunno. I think the amount of lobbying is pretty absurd. Ive already linked papers showing that the only ones effective at getting a law passed or a law blocked are corporations and special interest groups. If a large majority of citizens want a law to pass (or not pass), it simply doesn't matter and has a near zero effect on whether or not it passes. It's all about the $$$$ and not the will of the people

.. you know, it's not 1788 anymore. It's 2020

What were there, less than 20 colleges in the country when the Constitution was ratified? Im pretty sure the first public university didn't come into existence either until around that same time so I doubt higher education 230 years later was weighing heavily on their minds. There are now 5,300 colleges.

The federal minimum wage still exists (whether or not you like that) and hasn't gone up in going on 11 years.

And legal lobbying has always been a dog**** practice, but its been on steroids the past few decades. The mega rich get what they want passed or blocked and the rest of us get screwed, you included. Doesn't matter what you want or voted for. A few billion in lobbying payments = trillions for business. But please defend the practice. Your politicians get paid off while they're supposed to be representing you and then once they leave office they get a cushy lobbyist job, repeating the vicious cycle forever. I'm sure that's exactly what the forefathers intended for the USA.

Also, the government subsidizes industries and commodities (as I know you know) all the time depending on what is needed, regardless of you wanting them to point to the Constitution about where it says they have the power to do that.

There are very easy ways to work around that.

I would do two things:

1) Only living, breathing human beings can make campaign contributions, and all contributions must be reported on the Internet within 10 minutes of receipt. No corporations, no unions, no PACs, no bundlers, none of that. They can buy issue adverts, but such adverts cannot mention any candidate or party by name within X (say 120) days of an election.

2) Limit the amount that can be spent on an election to some multiple of the number of people that voted in the last election. Any political contributions in excess must be either 1) applied against the national debt, or 2) turned over to the same fund where the dollars that you check off to fund political campaigns on your 1040 go.
