How many NIT bids will the ACC get this year?
Based on latest NET ranking, doesn't seem likely the league gets more than 4 teams in the NIT (and that's if you assume Virginia won't make it to the big dance). After UVa, ND, NC State and Syracuse, the next highest ranked ACC team is Virginia Tech at #76.
This year may present a real test of how much the selection committee will weigh the NET rankings. With 100 spots between the NCAA and NIT, if there are 22 one-bid leagues in The Dance, that only leaves 78. If more than a few regular season champs get knocked out of the NCAA in their conference tourney, that would put the Hokies on the wrong side of the NIT bubble. Can they make a surge in the next three weeks and lock up an invite?

That's depressing and I'm not a Va. Tech fan! BTW, I think U.Va makes it to the Big Dance and they may even hang around for a while.

RE: How many NIT bids will the ACC get this year?
Tough to guess since we don't know how many one-bid leagues will have a regular season champ take an NIT auto-bid by failing to win their conference tournament.
Virginia: Nearly a NIT lock, but likely will be in NCAA
NC State: In good shape at 16-9. It's feast or famine with half of their final six against Duke/FSU though. Go 0-3 and fail to win the other 3... could be dicey at 18-13 + ACCT.
Notre Dame: 15-10 with a favorable remaining schedule, I think they make it with 4 more wins (counting ACCT).
Syracuse: Only 14-11, but I bet they make it in the end. Probably need 4 more wins like the Irish.
Virginia Tech: 15-10 but the worst NET of the group. Still have to play Duke, UofL, UVA, & @ ND. I don't see the NIT in the cards.
What hurts: Non-conference struggles deflated win totals, which is also why most won't be making the NCAA
What helps: Name recoginition. Outside of the Hokies everyone above has it, at least for NIT purposes. The committee has to grant the NCAA First Four Out the NIT 1 seeds and most NIT 7/8 seeds are the auto-bids. Outside that their process is a black hole, and historically that is favorable to power conference teams that draw some TV eyes and a decent crowd if they're a top 4 seed set to host.
My call is UVA to NCAA and the Irish/Orange/Pack to the NIT. I think the committee may have found an excuse to slot the Heels in the NIT if possible, but they have cratered even with Anthony's return and won't make it to .500.
