Who was the last UC player to average a double-double?

Eric Hicks averaged 15 pts and 9.7 reb senior year. So you could round up to 10. Kenyon Martin averaged 18.9 pts and 9.7 reb senior year. He was actually averaging over 10 reb before the SLU game but only played a few minutes with not stats in the SLU game so dropped his average down.

Other than that, I believe you would have to go back to Pat Cummings.

Kind of forgot about Hicks. He was incredible that year. Those averages playing center in a loaded Big East and he was 6’5” at best.

Criminal that he didn’t get a chance to end his career in the tournament.

The funny thing is, if he could learn better positioning and put his body on a man a little more, his rebounding average would most likely increase. Or at the very least prevent a few more rebounds from the opponents. Most of Tre's rebounds are because of his athletic ability and he just out jumps people or is quicker to the ball.

Always amazes me how players improve over a four or five year period, also, from start of year to end of year. What Scott does is rebound out of his area better than most.....04-cheers

This is very true. We've had a lot of great guys recently but not many combine the character with such an outgoing personality. I'm sure he'll be able to play overseas for awhile but whenever he comes back and needs to get a job he's going to do very well for himself. Would love to see him end up back in the program eventually.

Big improvement for him this year; only shot about 40 % last year at NKU. Last two games were probably his worst looking games at line. He is normally long when he misses but seems to adjust well and not miss two in a row very often.

Jelly Jones did it in 82-83. He finished the season with 16 points and 10 boards a game.

RE: Tre Scott
My guess is Tre will make some dinero playing overseas. I would not have expected that a couple years ago, but i'm convinced now that he's got enough skills and bball smarts to buckle down and do it. However, he might have a future in coaching. He seems to be a pretty bright guy who would work well as a drill sergeant. He's had to learn a lot of bball skills in the latter part of his career which may be a blessing in the coaching world. He's got a great attitude which is something you can't coach.

I think he's got the work ethic and communication skills to be a good coach but I wonder if his personality may be best suited to broadcasting. I know our color guys aren't full time guys but that might be a good place to start for him. Obviously for the next 5-10 years I'd expect him to be playing.

Does anyone notice in the post game pressers how much the young guys look up to Tre? Harvey and JD talk about him like he's a big brother.

I expect Scott will go to the NBA G league for at least a year or two. If he can improve his 3 point shooting, he may end up in the NBA.

When he plays well, people like him. When he don't, people don't. That's just the way it goes. Just ask Desmond Ridder.

I just think people (me) get frustrated with his lack of consistency and some of the bonehead plays he makes for being a senior. If he eliminated some of those, shot better at the line, and learned to box out a little more (all things that can easily be improved) there is no doubt in my mind he would be an All-American. He has that kind of talent.

Tre Scott is an All American talent, but he makes dumb plays and doesn't box out(!)? This is quite the take.

RE: Tre Scott
Tre has been a depth guy for almost the entirety of his career. I always thought his mind was going a little too fast for his body- which is odd because he is pretty darn athletic. Most of the problems he had in the past were with turnovers and inconsistency. Plus he has a tendency to leave his jump shots short and they come off the front of the rim. It’s almost like he’s trying to finesse them into the basket instead of trusting his muscle memory. He has always been a good rebounder, and a solid defender.

That being said- he has had two monster offensive games back to back. I don’t know if he can keep it up, but maybe he has finally turned the corner there. Justin Jackson had similar growth his senior year, but I don’t recall him putting up those types of numbers. If Tre continues to hit threes and hits his mid range jumper consistently, he becomes a totally different offensive player. That’s what we have seen the last couple games. I don’t know if he can keep it up or he just got hot.

How great would that be for Tre to get that double digit rebounding average as part of his UC legacy? He's been absolutely amazing in many ways during this stretch. I don't even want to think about the frontline next season without him.

RE: Tre Scott
With yesterdays 12, he is now averaging a double-double, he has 250 rebounds in 25 games, giving him an average of exactly 10 rebounds.

Tre Scott is also now tied with Gary Clark for 2nd in most career wins at UC with 105. He has a chance to tie/pass Steve Logan who holds the record of 111.

really happy for Tre. You could see the change of style on both ends affected his play early (but never his effort). He was thinking too much. He was over helping in man and was sped up in his thinking early on offense. The light has come on as he's gotten more comfortable and he's been unbelievable for UC the last month.
