How old are you esayem? I have an old southern conference string of banners that has all of those teams minus Richmond add Washington & Lee. It's probably from the 1940s.

Schools with football return to indy status and get access to the G5 autobid. BET ticket prices skyrocket. Tight geographic footprint compared to today's monster conferences. Add Xavier/Cincy for 12. Schools listed in order of who i consider to be GU's rivals.

Would you have a DC version of the Big 5 with games at Fort Myer for old time's sake?

we'd have to add GW, American and maybe Howard for that.

Those would be non-conference (with Mason being in the rotation too)

You must be missing George Washington, Richmond, Furman, and the Citadel!

Army/Navy play every year in a OOC match up. The game doesn't count towards conference standings so it wont interfere with the CCG. I believe Wake played one of the other ACC NC schools in OOC one year so it's not unprecedented.

FB Championship in Giants Stadium, BBall tourny at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly.

Thats Orange Bowl contract worthy team and a tough top 3 BBall conference especially if UConn can ever get its act together again.

I like it! The only quarrel I have is I would substitute/drop UMass.

No don't. Keep us. It's good as is and you won't need to worry about UCONN trying to make up a rivalry.

For this or any new east coast G5 conference should use the conference name of Atlantic XII.

RE: Design Your Dream Conference(s)
I have always loved the SEC/ACC rivalries that are played on rivalry weekend (UGA/GT, UF/FSU, USC/CU). Create two conferences that are full of that type of matchup:

ACC
Virginia
Duke
Louisville
Vanderbilt
Clemson
Georgia Tech
Florida St.
Auburn
Mississippi St.
Tulane (*Need somebody for LSU, and former Power Conference Member)
Texas
Oklahoma

SEC
Virginia Tech
North Carolina
Kentucky
Tennessee
South Carolina
Georgia
Florida
Alabama
Ole Miss
LSU
Texas A&M
Oklahoma St.

Assume nothing! The only rules are you make the rules (OK they have to be Div. 1 schools)!

I wouldn't necessarily call it my Dream Conference but I think it's a decent SBC/CUSA realignment

Marshall
Appalachian State
Charlotte
Coastal Carolina
Georgia State
Georgia Southern
Arkansas State
UAB
Troy
Southern Miss
Louisiana
Louisiana Tech

I like it, maybe trade Charlotte out but I’ll roll with it.

I was trying to make it an even 12 teams with a decent number of in-state rivalries

The more I think about it the more I like it, it allows almost everyone an instate rival and if you want geographic travel partners you could do:

LaTech & Arkansas State
Louisiana & Southern Miss
Troy & UAB
Georgia State & Georgia Southern
Coastal & Charlotte
App State & Marshall

RE: Design Your Dream Conference(s)
Southwest Conference Redux. (Given instant Power Conference status in all sports. Because reasons.)

Acadian
Arkansas (Former SWC member; currently in SEC)
Arkansas State
Louisiana-Lafayette
Louisiana Tech
Memphis (AAC, which was AQ before start of CFP era.)
Oklahoma State (Former SWC and Big 8 member; currently in Big Xii.)
Tulane (Former SEC member)

Lone Star
Houston (Former SWC member; currently in AAC, which was AQ before start of CFP era.)
Lamar
North Texas
Rice (Former SWC member; currently in CUSA)
SMU (Former SWC member; currently in AAC, which was AQ before start of CFP era.)
Texas State
UTSA

I think this conference would do pretty well. Thoughts?
