Right now ECU and App St. are carrying their dinners over to the table by the kitchen entrance while their waiter is clearing off their romantic table for two by the window for Georgia and Clemson... who just walked in.
No doubt App, and to a lesser degree ECU are getting shafted. But you can’t blame the CSE folks for putting together a top 5 matchup that will make a ton of $$$ for them. This might be the marquee OOC matchup for the season.
The only silver lining is if the cancellation provision is enforced ($500k to App) and if it’s on a decent tv channel. I’ll still go but I bet my group is cut in half, if not more.
How are we getting shafted to a lesser extent? Instead of a 2 for 1, we agreed to a neutral game at BOA that, if on a Saturday, would sell loads of seats. If it's going to be on Thursday, might as well move it back to Greenville.
Your understanding of the agreement is wrong. ECU agreed to a 2-2 with one of Apps home games in BofA. App takes the gate in CLT so we get the brunt of the shafting.
You do have to visit Greenville NC on occasion to watch football, which is a shafting in itself.

It isn't a neutral game though. It's an App home game at BOA. App gets all the financial incentive of the game. Even a chunk of y'all's tickets sold in the season ticket portion is going to App. Moving the game from sat to Thur will result in less attendance which was going into the pockets of App State
Correct. App State will receive 50% of ECU's season-ticket revenue above $100,000 for this game only.
Assume a $40 face value: App will receive 50% of ECU season-ticket revenue for this game after 2,500 season tickets. Assuming this game is a mandatory part of ECU 2021 season tickets, that is a significant chunk of change with ECU season ticket numbers likely to increase from their 13,000 in 2019.
Oh yeah, forgot this is like a 2-1-1. My bad.

Tell me about the 2-story Wendy's and Daniel Boone Buffet that makes Boone so awesome, again.

We're set to lose nice little chunk of change by moving the game to Thursday.
Ticket prices will be determined later upon agreement by the two teams. If no agreement can be reached, prices will be $115 for club one level seats, $125 for club two level seats, $90 for lower level seats and $65 for upper level seats.
https://www.wataugademocrat.com/sports/t...5ab41.html
Also the contract calls for ECU to keep 25% of single game tickets sold, plus 400 complimentary tickets.

Correct. We were responding to someone asking why we thought App was getting screwed more than ECU. The bottom line is unless App can hold CSF to the full $500k cancellation fee (which looks like the probability is low) then App is definitely getting pounded harder than ECU in this new Vader style alteration.

Definitely worse for App, but ECU will also lose a considerable slice. App should be able to negotiate something through Charlotte Sports Events. The financial responsibility to negotiate a fair settlement should fall mostly fall on UGA and Clemson, via CSE.
The part of the CSE/App contract I've seen says if either party breaks the agreement they owe $500k. The ECU/App contract specifically ties their contract to the place and date. I would think App's contract with CSE is worded similarly. If so, then CSE is legally on the hook for the $500k if the date is changed.
ECU will probably just have to take its financial lumps.

Good, it shouldn't have been in the first place. Having it as an add on option to the package as a pre-order away game like any other away game is fine. If this is still scheduled for Charlotte on Thursday night I highly doubt my 4 will be there.

I'll be there. Grew up in Charlotte. While a few stayed at UNCC, the vast majority of us were split East and West. We'll have a big crew there from both sides.

RE: App vs ECU @ BOA Charlotte - Rescheduled
After some thought, I don't think the move to Thursday is such a bad thing (at least for ECU). Hear me out...
Both teams likely agreed to the venue to get a game in the Charlotte recruiting market. Like Gilbert (ECU's AD) said when discussing the Marshall game getting moved to week zero, lots of people like to go to the beach for Labor Day Weekend. This is also true of each school's fanbases in Charlotte. I think that playing the game on Thursday will not only improve the TV audience with less competition from other games, but will also probably get more of the Charlotte metro area crowd that want to kick their Labor Day weekend off early.
For us, with it pretty much being an away game either way, I'd rather get the visibility and the Charlotte audience than have the game in Boone (which many have suggested). This is the same reason that NFL teams play in London. They don't expect their home fanbases to make the trip (even though it's nice when they do), they are expecting the UK locals to show up.
Just a thought. I'll be there either way.
