Exclamation Coaching Carousel turns again

3 sitting P5 head coaches have been poached so far: 2 from Pac-12 (SEC, B1G), 1 from Big XII (NFL). ACC has a near miss, but none poached (yet - unless you think Colorado can poach an ACC coach? Nah.)

THOUGHTS?

Hokies better keep an eye on their coach, he’s been pretty flirty with other job openings.

Fuente has the whiff of Petrino about him. If Vegas does parlay bets on whether a coach gets fired or hired away first, I'd love to see Fuente's line in Vegas.

Until/unless he actually does leave, Fuente is our coach, win or tie... Too much more of that other stuff and it won't matter whether he wants to leave or not!

With someone loyal I'm ready to be loyal, but if you're only in it for the money... you better deliver!

Compared to Frank Beamer, everyone smells like Petrino.

It's hard to replace someone like Beamer. I feel for Fuente a little bit there. But he knew what he was getting into, at least I hope he did.

As far as the original post ... it's a small sample size. But I'd submit that every P5 conference has schools in it that could swipe other P5 head coaches.

Mel Tucker from Colorado to Michigan State feels more like a guy who is getting back to a part of the country he is used to. I never thought him going west would work long term anyway. The telling thing here is just how much money Michigan State had to use to actually LAND a coach. Desperation is never a good look.

To me it looks similar to what Penn State did. Bring a guy in to fix the culture, give him a bunch of money and job security, and roll with it. They have to know a bowl ban or something is on the horizon. They didn’t need to look far for an example.
