He just is average at this point in his career and not a great fit for UAB right now. They have played good defense this year at times. Not great just good. I hope he lands a job elsewhere and is successful as he grows in his career. You don’t have to be a Richard.

BTW Murry has been critical when warranted. I guess his words only count when he is critical?

I disagree. Being 4-5 games above .500 with this awful league and schedule is not average. It’s bad. And he hasn’t gotten better. And it’s his 4th year. And I could go on. And it’s not being a Richard to point out the truth.

I think we’re all over the pissing matches now. It is what it is. We won today. Let’s win out to selection Sunday.

It is scary to hope for success in the short term that would result in him returning next year, knowing that things won’t change much at all for the better of the program in the long term. Right now and all that has ever mattered is a Blazer Victory. Not going to hope for anything but that. Time to leave that discussion for the end of the season.

Lovan in two games against MTSU:

25 points, on 10/11 FG's
22 points, on 7/11 FG's

17/22 from the field averaging 23.5 ppg. Yeah, that's pretty efficient.

If we can get this version of Lovan and Butler moving forward we have a chance to make some real noise. Inconsistency has plagued this team throughout the year though.

One of Lovan's attempts was a 3 with a second left on shotclock and he had to heave it without even setting up....

Yes, Lovan was 0-1 on 3 point attempts.

From Murry on Twitter.

Quote: UAB's last 4 games on the road: at FAU, at UTSA, at UTEP, and at Middle TN. All WINS. That's not easy to do. Seem incredibly focused on the road. Really follow the scouting report. Excellent team defense. And play with a nice rhythm on the 'O' end. And players making plays!

I really like Murry’s commentary on the radio broadcast.

I do too. He is also not afraid to be hard on the players and coaches when warranted. He does a great job IMHO. He doesn’t sugar coat the bad and compliments when warranted. Too bad some of our “fans” can’t be that way.

Murry is the best of both worlds.

He played MBB and was a head coach. He knows it all and its reflected in the broadcast.

Teams with a 45-63 combined record. Road wins are nice, but against that quality of opponent, wins should be expected, not celebrated, against those teams. Why can’t we win at home against these teams?

I’ve enjoyed listening to Murray. I honestly just listen to the radio broadcast more than watch whatever crappy channel we’re on, mainly cause of him.
