How in the hell do men like this influence people to the extent they do and get away with it for so long?

Total social depravity due to the abandonment of God and any semblance of morality is at the heart of this matter. People, like illegals, are seen as a commodity for work, sex, or buying votes to job the system. Prostitution is just another from of the same disregard of the fact that we are all created in the image of God, and are bound by morality to protect that quality in our lives.

If nothing is immoral or illegal then what is paid sex between people but a contract for services rendered.

You are beholding a world so corrupt and evil that it begs the imagination as to how we got here so quickly from the days of revivals and focus upon seeking the goodness within ourselves.

Money, power and celebrity have made chronic immorality look appealing while ignoring the personal devastation it wreaks upon those who practice it. So here we are. When you think about it you shouldn't be surprised, particularly if you've studied Scripture which I know you have.

Oh, I'm not surprised at all, just wondering how such men develop such power over these people. I know in his case it was by holding a threat over their heads but at some point one would think they'd break out of their hypnotic trance and seek out the authorities.

But then I'm a fighter and can't imagine allowing such a person to hold sway over me the way these kids did. Maybe when I was a kid it could have happened but I can't see it.
