BYU in Bridgeview - Pregame Party Planning
Anyone have ideas? We already have one on the table:

An inspirational storytelling of the history of Argo Cornstarch factory?

I would say hit Joe and Frank's Polish Market on Harlem, but that one closed.

Instead of the players breaking down a wall like EMU does, they will be spray painting pictures on the wall.

My buddy is from Justice. He just informed me that Bridges has closed. So I asked where his old high school buddies go. He replied "crack houses."

The one on 87th was way better anyway.

Ha, my mother-n-law worked at Corn Products LoL! I’ve got a lot of southwest side relatives that will be attending this one for sure! I’ve been to a few Fire games. A bit intimate, but it will be nice to play in a stadium with real concessions etc. I’m ok with skipping DeKalb for 1 game.

I'm ok with it too.

But could def see why locals and/or season tickets holders would not be happy.

Hope no one pre-paid for a room in DeKalb, Huskies or Cougars.

Yeah, I like 87th better.

I used to love the Bobak's by Midway. That place was awesome. The hot meals too. And you could get a beef hot dog for a buck, polish I think was $1.50. 03-cloud9

Ditto Bobak's. We made it a point to hit their buffet up anytime we have a flt out of Midway. It was outstanding. Too bad it closed.

Former south sider here. I've always liked Nick and Vito's pizza, 84th and Pulaski. Not exactly close to the stadium, but not too far.
Good thin pizza, spicy sausage and pepperonis. Old time decor, think the 60s, including the bar area. The Old Style is served from a plastic pitcher, reminds me of my teens (don't ask).

Seatgeek stadium? Jeez, why not just have it at Brother Rice High School, stadium holds a few thousand, it'll look really crowded on TV!!

Nice, I heard Nick and Vito's have some of the best tavern thin crust in the city.

Since I live by the stadium, I'll make some suggestions later. My #1 pick for everyone is to stop by Chuck's Southern Comforts Cafe. Arguably the best BBQ in the state. It's 10 minutes from the stadium.

RE: BYU in Bridgeview - Pregame Party Planning
I've never been to that stadium and am not familiar with the area, but from what I understand the parking lot is HUGE. Why not band together and get a massive tailgate party going. Make those BYU people go back home saying "man we weren't even on their campus and there was a crazy turnout with an amazing atmosphere inside and outside the stadium." Couple that with what will hopefully be an improved product on the field this season, and that's the kind of thing that gets you more "brand name" programs willing to play you in the future. Does anyone not think that the first thing an AD does when approached by a program like NIU about scheduling is to call other AD's who have played that team in the past and ask if it's worth it?? Plus, one shot on TV of a big rowdy crowd having a great time in the parking lot, and another shot of the opposing offense not being able to call a play because it's too loud in the stadium...Now recruits think twice about wanting to go to NIU, and random football fans think about going to a game.

We need a dog-pound flag. Fly it right below your NIU flag.

Correct. Now that the decision is made we go with it. NIU needs to advertise the heck out of the game in the Chicago area to pack the place. Maybe with some good weather it could be a positive experience.

Generally Toyota Park does a decent job advertising their events to the community as well.

I also just saw that there is a shuttle of some sort that runs from Midway to the stadium? Anyone know anything about that? Sounds like good potential to get from downtown to the game pretty easily. I believe it's the Orange Line that runs from Union Station to Midway...??

The media release already mentioned there will be buses from Dekalb to the game so they are trying to make it as convenient as possible for people to attend.

Lets pack the place and have a good time!

I might be able to accommodate that. I spent 10 years working retail management and I had a company that made countless marketing banners for me and didn't charge a ton, I'll reach out and see if they could do a flag.

I was thinking Gately since MC moved out of there. They also did practice there a few years ago.

Likely would have to a play at 9am or 9pm to accommodate CPS teams.
