Yep I thought the same thing. Makes sense why they were trying to lock people in with that credit. Now can go right to the BYU game. Just a gimmick

I actually agree with that ticketing procedure (assuming they appropriately adjust season ticket costs). Because there are people that only plan on attending games in DeKalb, so they shouldn't need to pay for a game that's in Chicago if they don't want to. This gives you the ability to flex your season tickets for this game as you see fit.

I'm still not in favor of this move overall, just saying I like doing the tickets that way.

RE: Big Announcement - Athletics
I like it, from a person living on the s side aspect.

I do think it's better for BYU people traveling, can stay in city and easier for tours. And no offense to DeKalb, have to go to DeKalb area and see there vacant store fronts and former flop house hotels.

Flipside, sucks for DeKalb area season ticket holders, businesses and fans of both schools who already made plans.

I mean could they have waited any longer to announce? Albeit not as bad as NFL thinking of moving games from Sunday to Monday during season.

Will it be on TV? Think I'll save the $25 and buy drinks at a bar with it.

Yep I am not renewing tickets this year

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......this genuinely makes me sad to see a Huskie legend not reviewing season tickets

RE: Big Announcement - Athletics
Seems like a kooky idea to me. I was looking forward to driving from Central Ohio to attend this game in Dekalb. My daughter and granddaughters were going to drive down from Wisconsin to meet us for the game. My granddaughters are young enough that they really enjoy "The Yard" prior to the home games. We are cancelling our plans to attend this game. My wife and I have driven up for all of the Soldier Field games which are fun and make a lot of sense for an early season game on a Saturday afternoon against the right opponent. Moving the BYU game out of DeKalb seems really dumb to me.

No season tickets for me anymore. After last season's weather, was looking forward to a good matchup in DeKalb. Forget it now.

Hell yeah. Totally psyched for a game closer to Chicago.

For the naysayers do you think Alumni’s in the Chicagoland area won’t show up? Here are two questions I have:

How many NIU fans do you think will make it to this game?
Do you think being closer to Chicago will attract more BYU fans to attend?

There was probably a good portion of the fanbase who reluctantly bought season tickets this past season. I am not sure if STF realizes how many fans will drop off now

My wife wanted me to drop out 4 tix last year and I didn't, now I'm starting to think I might. This is just stupid. Granted me getting to bridgeview is easier than dekalb, but its not a home game. and I doubt the season tix price will reflect the loss of the game. Better if it was included on the package with additional tix for ST holders costing 25.

RE: Big Announcement - Athletics
I logged in and looked at my season ticket amount owed. I owed 625. I have 4 season tickets at 125 each, then there was 100 for this game and then 25 for parking? or something and then 10 for fees. My dad asked if we were renewing or not right after Christmas, I said yah, he was like OK, but after this, I'm not sure we will renew. If he still lived in Blue Island, it'd be a no brainer, but he lives in Wisconsin now and I live near Grayslake, so this just sucks giving up the best home game in the next 2 years. Rhode Island is not going to draw extra fans to DeKalb.

My guess is ESPN+, with an additional premium fee to watch this riveting game.

I've got news for you. They don't care.

STF will see that the mega donors get transportation to this game, and that's all that counts.

In regards to it being on tv, I'd say 50/50. My guess is CBSSN, but I suppose FS1 could be a possibility. There isn't much precedence for ESPN covering their non-conf games and when they play on the road, they're either not on tv or they're typically on the other team's conference channel (ie, Pac-12 Network, SEC Network, etc).

So, just looking back at the past few years (and the number of home games against FBS opponents is not exactly abundant), it looks like the options are CBSSN, FS1/2, or ESPN News.

Next year we will host a game at Benedictine U ...followed by an announcement that we have gotten rid of announcers from the telecasts at Huskie Stadium

They definitely read this board. I had a lengthy discussion with the ticket office once about it, and I remember a few others mentioning it when they went to purchase tickets
