RE: Huskies/Cardinals
There's just so little options when German isn't scoring. As soon as he started making shots, they went on a run.

Realistically, 3-3 down the stretch should get a bye. 4-2 absolutely would. They're in good shape.

Huskies are now currently 3rd overall in the MAC. Monty’s teams have struggled every year at the end of the season either a 4 or 5 game losing streak or win one lose one. Right know I’m just hoping they get over the 500 MAC record wall!

That's not lackluster. That's being impatient. Probably frustrated. That's trying to make something happen from nothing. For playing lacklusterly, they sure held a good team, at home, to 29 points in the first half and 63 for the game. And had a chance to win at the end.

Jeez...if they'd have just tried harder....

Their offense just not good and sometimes they're going to have trouble scoring. Especially when German struggled for the first 30 minutes and both bigs were in foul trouble. Don't think it was anything more than that.

Don't think anybody below CMU is really even a factor in terms of NIU and a bye. NIU has the tiebreaker on both Kent and Buffalo. It's going to take NIU falling flat on their face down the stretch in order to not get a bye. Just a quick looks leads me to believe NIU has the easiest remaining schedule in that top group of 5.

BGSU and Ball State play on Saturday.

If you care about winning the MAC regular season, go Ball State. If you care more about a bye (like me), root for BG.

Cochran: 10 points & 7 rebounds in 26 minutes.

The 1 seed is out there for the taking. Someone said the 1seed has a automatic berth in the NIT. I want that.

This is true and I actually didn't think about that.

Still think I would prefer a BGSU win.

It’s an automatic berth if they don’t win the MAC tourney or receive an at large bid for the NCAA. Obviously, there won’t be an at large bid.

Regular season champions for all conferences are guaranteed an NIT bid if not in the NCAA.

My druthers would be Ball St., Kent St., Buffalo, CMU all lose. Pushes them down without elevating anyone else too close to Northern.

Six games to play.

RE: Huskies/Cardinals
Liked the fight in this team the last 6 - 8 min of that game, I thought it was over and they held out long enough to make a game out of it.

A couple things:

- make your darn free throws. goodness.
- and get more free throws! Agree with the others on here that there were a few too many pull-ups. But give Ball State credit, they had good D in closing off some drives.
- I know teams can make a decent run with a 7-8 man rotation, but I think for this team to have a chance at the MAC, one of Scott/Cole/Johnson has to step up and be able to give more effective minutes. IMO, it's not going to be Scott, so I'm hopefully that it can be one of the other two. 9 minutes today between the 3 of them and not a SINGLE REBOUND.
- Losing by 4 with how bad NIU shot...there aren't many 'good' losses, but it ain't terrible.
- German had a down night, it happens. You'll win with him and you'll lose with him.

RE: Huskies/Cardinals
Updated projections after Tuesday's games. I have NIU switching with BSU after this game, putting BSU at 3 and NIU at 4. The only drawback would be having a very tough game vs Kent as a 5 seed. Hopefully NIU can beat BSU in the Convo. Just how big is that game? Perhaps the final game vs BSU decides who gets the 4th slot? Now appears to me NIU should only be a small underdog in one game rest of this year, @ EMU. It also appears as though NIU has the easiest remaining schedule in the MAC

NIU
Projected Conference Wins: 11.2
Projected Seed: #4
Projected First MAC Tourney Game: Quarterfinals #4 NIU vs #5 Kent State/#12 Miami in Cleveland, OH
Chance for NIU to win MAC tourney: 4.9%

Rest of year mock lines:

@ Miami-OH, NIU by 2
Central Michigan, NIU by 5
@ Eastern Michigan, EMU by 3
@ Western Michigan, NIU by 1
Toledo, NIU by 2
Ball State, EVEN

Projected wins in conference

1. BGSU 12.7
2. Akron 12.4
3. Ball State 11.4
4. NIU 11.2
5. Kent State 10.7
6. CMU 9.5
7. Buffalo 9.4
8. Toledo 7.4
9. Ohio 6.8
10. EMU 6.4
11. WMU 6.3
12. Miami-OH 3.8

Chances of NIU finishing with the following number of conference wins:

8: 1.0%
9: 6.9%
10: 19.9%
11. 30.8%
12. 26.7%
13. 12.4%
14: 2.4%

Percent Chances to Win MAC Tourney

1. Kent State 20.6%
2. Bowling Green 19.6%
3. Akron 19.2%
4. Ball State 17.1%
5. Buffalo 7.3%
6. Toledo 6.0%
7. Northern Illinois 4.9%
8. Central Michigan 2.8%
9. Ohio 1.2%
10. Eastern Michigan 1.0%
11. Western Michigan 0.3%
12. Miami-OH 0.1%

Attendance was 4,288.

Does STF even monitor this and research what they are doing right and we are doing wrong?
