Trevelin Queen is in the line up for the Aggies tonight vs Seattle. Great news.

I think if Chi State had Xavier Johnson for the CSUB game they would have won.

That is awesome. So glad he made it back quickly. The amount of time and number of games these kids get to play is finite, so it sucks to see any of them have to miss time for injury.

RE: WAC Basketball week 15 (WAC week 7)
Currently, the WAC seem to be beating up on itself. Most games are toss ups with teams winning on the road weekly. NMSU is leading the conference as usual; and they are fortunate to be 12-0 currently given all the injuries. They find ways to win. However, it is clear the talent disparity gap of the past between the Aggies and the rest of the WAC is continually closing. NMSU player's talent is not that overwhelming such that they can afford to have an off night. NMSU is the favorite in WAC tourney but anyone of the other teams can get hot on a given night. And, NMSU is taken every ones best shot every outing so far. NMSU still needs to extend this winning streak seven more games.

There is a lot of basketball to be played this season but looking forward, with NMSU's recent additions for next season's squad, I am hopeful Jans can once again widen the talent gap between us and the rest of the conference. Although these Aggie games exciting to watch, many of them are getting a little too close for comfort. A would rather steamroll the competition.

I wouldn't say the talent disparity gap is closing because we still dominate the conference. Yes, it's every WAC teams Super Bowl when they play NMSU so NMSU takes everyones best. To say, it's closing is B.S since everyone is under .500.

The Aggies are winning because of superior coaching; that is where the talent disparity is now. Jans can get NMSU to play at a consistently high level whereas the other coaches have some peeks but more valleys in the consistency of their respective team's play. As I said the rest of the WAC is beating up on itself depending on the coach's game plan going into a game. NMSU is able to gut out wins because Jans put his players in a better position to win.

However, when all WAC players are playing at a high level, almost every WAC schools has players as good as NMSU"s, maybe not as many of them. But all it takes five good ones playing together. Last night, Madsen had his team clicking. When they play together, their talent shows. The problem is Madsen hasn't been able to get that type of play consistently. That is where Jans has done a masterful job. NMSU might have a bad game but through Jans' coaching and players making keys plays, NMSU finds a way to win.

What I am saying about the talent gap is NMSU doesn't have a player on this roster who is indefensible. In the past, Lofton was indefensible. Siakam was indefensible. Sim was almost indefenible. NMSU's roster is deeper with a "similar" level talent with the best of the WAC. But we don't have that one or two guys who WAC coaches don't have an answer for in their planning. My point is a player like Marcus Watson could become just that type of player. And, if Carl Lewis had stayed, he could have been that type of player also. I want Jans to increase the player talent gap again.

BTW, GCU's Jovan Blacksher is the WAC's best young talent right now. If he has a leap like Jabari Rice had this season, he will be unstoppable next season.

RE: WAC Basketball week 15 (WAC week 7)
I can’t hate on the WAC. They gave NMSU A home when no one else would. However, I’ve seen so many teams come and go I can’t help but be disappointed. If the WAC could hold on to some of these schools it has a chance of being a pretty decent conference. I don’t blame any teams for leaving, I know we would in a heartbeat.

All I can do for now is ugly cry into my pillow. So if you’ll excuse me...
