2011 UK - 3 and 8 along with Harrelson and Liggins @ 45 and 54 (#3 never played)

Lets compare that to Memphis 2020...Precious @ ~15 and Nobody else.

Really nice breakdown. Thanks.

Obviously expectations have changed. At this point NIT seems like the most likely possibility with the team’s youth, inexperience, slow growth (if any) and DJ’s injury.

Rideau and Collins are their best players by a good margin.

BTW. It kills me the way AAC refs fall for the Collins flops. He has it down to perfection. You'd think though that the refs would look at film and know that he's going to flop at least 3 times every game and not look foolish by falling for it.

Yetna was their best player last season based on overall production. He led the conference last year in rebounding and double doubles and was only a freshman. He was ruled out in Nov due to a knee injury. I'm glad he didn't play this game otherwise the rebounding margins would have been more lopsided.

He hasn't played all year for them, so it just seems an odd qualifier at this point in the year.

Not any different than saying Wiseman is out for the year. The point I'm making is USF didn't have close to their best roster; it's not a talented team and one we should beat at home. There's a reason they are sub .500 in a relatively mediocre conference. Regardless, let's hope we can regroup, get healthy and go on a run in the AAC tourney.

The discussion issue shouldn't focus on comparing recruiting classes but instead compare our talent on the floor vs the schools we are playing & losing to. That's the relevant comparison to determine if we are under achieving.

True...

So 3 Sophomore bench players from an NIT team were combined with

a top 20 Freshman that was in foul trouble
and two other top 50 freshmen

Add two more Freshmen in the in the top 120. Players outside the top 100 are normally not heavy contributors their freshmen years on good teams.

So yeah...Do we have more upside...Without a doubt...Are we a better @ basketball right now...That is questionable. We have a bunch of guys who are 1 dimensional including Precious.

Penny should do a better job of putting them in places to succeed but when you pull the center of the defense off the floor and pair that with a shaky offense we are going to struggle.

Experience has to play a factor in it as well.
