A little plug for our NIU grapplers.......Coach Ludwig has his squad trending upward with a nice team this season. A lot of young talent that should keep them on the rise for seasons to come. Currently they are sitting at 11-4 with the potential to have a 13 win season. 13 wins would be one of the better win totals in NIU history.

The win over Central Michigan was the first over the Chips since 2003

Todays win over Ohio was the first since 2008 over the Bobcats. It was a 31-6 bludgeoning. NIU dominantly took 8 of 10 matches. Pretty cool to watch it on ESPN plus.....

NIU hosts the MAC championships this year in Dekalb. March 7th and 8th at the Convo. The Mid American Conference is the 2nd largest NCAA tournament qualifier in the country with 15 schools competing. Missouri, Rider, Lock Haven, Central Michigan, Old Dominion, Edinboro, Clarion, Buffalo, Ohio, SIU Edwardsville, Kent State, Cleveland State, George Mason, and Bloomsburg.

NIU is currently ranked #6 in the conference but a finish near the top is very realistic. Missouri is always the strong favorite.

I was able to catch these guys in action at the meet in San Luis Obispo, California earlier this season. Cal Poly SLO. NIU's first ever trip to California. I had to make the 4 hour drive up from Orange County...... Give them some love HUSKIE NATION.....

I wish Dekalb had enough quality lodging to accommodate everyone.
