This was a CATASTROPHIC screwup and I am pissed that they won't provide a replay on the internet. At first I thought it was a blackout but I am in a media market far enough away to not be affected (OKC).
I saw at the time the game started they switched the live video link to it to the LRtrojan streaming package, but I could not get it there, either. I had to PAY an additional $5.95 for that and all I could get was wrestling vs. Arizona State -- wrong ASU, buddy! Another epic fail. I want my money back for that and will ask for it. No announcement about the issue that I could see about it either. I looked at the LRtrojans homepage and Facebook. On a side note, 94.1 decided to switch to another URL for their internet stream so their link was dead--way to go. I had to hunt for the new audio link on the KKPT website. They probably lost some internet listeners on that one if they did not know where to look. The media outlets are becoming about as sketchy as Ray Tucker's voice.
This is some bush-league fumbling at best or passive-aggressive BS at worst and it needs to be corrected. And don't give me that nonsense about budget cuts. The broadcasts are funded by ESPN running commercials. Those sponsors got screwed out of their spots running. They should be getting a refund/not be charged for this one. This would have been the most heavily watched live stream and replay of any Trojans or Red Wolves ESPN webcast so far. Why? because more people than usual that cannot easily go to the Jack will want to watch it online! And you have to tell them it is LOST? I paid for this service and want satisfaction. This is a business, they are not just doing us a favor or a "public service". We should get what we paid for. At least upload a replay for us paid subscribers on ESPN+ so we get to see what we signed up for and the advertisers get some exposure.
"You shoulda came to the game", you say? Let me see...I would have to travel 350 miles from Edmond, OK to the Jack which takes over 5 hours. I would also likely need a place to stay, a hotel rather than mooching off my family would be appropriate. Add to that meals and fuel and the difference in price of the tickets and the ESPN+ subscription. I have to burn 2 days, 700 miles on my car, 3 tankfuls of gas and a lot more cash than I would if I were local. I had other things I needed to do that same day so I could not leave town. So don't give me any crap about how I should have come down and that it serves me right to not see the webcast. The thing that pisses me off most are the people that live in the area there and don't bother to show up. If anybody deserved to not see the live webcast it was those mooks.
This has the be the most irritated I have ever been after a Trojan victory against the Jonesboro school.
