Thank you, as I agree.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's not going to be able to replace German. It will probably be difficult just to replace Lacy.

No matter ... 6 straight freakin' wins!

Buffalo 25-9 with 7 1/2 left in the first.

CMU is 13-8/6-2
Buffalo is 14-9/5-5

Still not a fan of Monty, but have to give him credit they are hot right now. Hope they can keep it going into the MAC tourney. Just once I want to see them in the NCAA tourney

So let me ask you and the other haters this: Why do you hate Monty when his team is first in defending the opponents fg% and 3pt%. Also his Huskies have held all MAC opponents except Akron (by 1 or 1 1/2points) under their scoring average. He also recruited one of the most dynamic players (Geno) to the black hole of Dekalb basketball. Hey we are 8-3 in the MAC, and I like you would like to make the big dance before I die. Changing coaches will not help anything. What would help if we could pack the convo. If you live within 75 miles of a Huskie basketball game go out and yell for the Huskies. I do, and I live in rural Florida. Yeah most on this board follow football and want to move up to a better conference than the MAC. Trust me, if you don't have a good MBB program to go along with a good football program you are going nowhere but down.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should be 10-1 with a strangle hold on the West. Just so I understand this, if you question something or disagree, that makes you a hater?

Totally collapses in the end....this team should be 17-7....or better and that's not including the PITT meltdown.

That loss VS CMU makes me go RED......................winning the entire game minus less than the last F'N .01 on a run out full court layup. Weak.

WTF

You can’t replace German/all time scorer but he certainly can get another guard that is a consistent double figure scorer.

What NIU has done in the last 6 games is fairly unreal given their metrics. Have they tipped the scales on offensive/defensive emphasis, is there enough offense to contend in a tournament?

In Pantone's defense he does put a disclaimer at the end of each and every post: 'Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.'

Some here still suffer from what I call lingering Patton-itis.

When you've been down so long, you get tired of reaching up to touch bottom, so skepticism and cynicism become almost natural. Watch what happens the next time the Huskies lose a game.

For now, I'm just going to enjoy what the official website game summary said: "NIU's sixth consecutive win gives the Huskies their longest Mid-American Conference winning streak in program history as they improve to 15-9 overall, 8-3 in league play."

Maybe even 1500? 02-13-banana

Wait! You hate Monty! You think this team is underacheiving. Why are you even watching. Sorry but there is no room for haters on the bandwagon.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait! This isn’t that hard.
I don’t “hate” Monty.
I don’t think he’s a good D1 HC and he’s certainly had his chance. If he had back up talent to replace German, Lacey next year I’d think differently.
I missed the memo that stated you can’t be a loyal Huskie fan and not be a fan of the coach.

So those that don’t like STF don’t like NIU?

Hate was a bad word to use and I apologize. You are talking about next year of which none of us can predict. You were probably saying the same thing last year. Just enjoy what Monty is serving up to us this year. Watch him. He still has the fire after all these years and things will continue to improve.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apology accepted pantone but please stop twisting other people’s opinions to the extreme.

I’ve never questioned MM effort or fire, only the results after many years on the job.

The success of this year is about 3 things.
-Having NIUs all time leading scorer in his Senior year in German.
-Having an inside force in Lacey also his Senior year.
-Finally getting all 5 guys on the floor buying in to Team Defense.

A successful coach would have years like this the majority of the time rather than the exception.

RE: Huskies/Golden Flashes
Just a low-level observation ... fans love to see lots of threes falling, slam-dunks, razzle-dazzle passes around and under and through the other team.

Defense itself doesn't get much "free advertising" among fans. But holding opponents to low scoring while dropping a few more in yourself does have its admirers.

And look where we're at.

Also ... something happened internally between last season and this one. The addition of Anthony Beane as an asst.?

Joenovak, sorry but the history of NIU basketball says you are wrong. Good seasons are the exception here not the norm. Winning 20 games has been very rare over the history of NIU basketball. If Monty can win 20 games again we have to give him his props!

Cram the convo is always the best crowd I would implore athletics that whatever you do to promote that game don’t for others.
