I hope Coach Forbes gets whatever he wants for his career
And I would be thrilled if he stays until we're both old men, but the reality at ETSUs level is that you want to be so successful that your coach gets an offer he can't refuse. A thriving mid-major looks for a new coach every 3-4 years, and honestly we've kept Steve longer than I expected. Maybe he has the personal, family and career satisfaction he wants and we do pay him well for the cost of living here. Maybe he stays.
Comparisons I see to Mark Few at Gonzaga or at Gregg Marshall at Wichita don't equate because those guys are paid far, far beyond what we can afford.
My crystal ball is cloudy, but I think we're in the final few weeks of a great tenure. Forbes was the guy I wanted, although that began a couple of years before we got him.
If I were a one man search committee for his replacement, this is my first target:

Why ahead of ourselves? I don't understand what that means.
